At first, Islinda didn't acknowledge it, but she realized she would choose Aldric's castle over the scheming and murderous Queens in this palace. Even the once welcoming human realm she had been anxious to escape to was no longer hospitable, considering what she had discovered about herself and the possibility that she might not be able to return. So, whether she liked it or not, Aldric's castle was the closest thing she had to a "home" at the moment.
