65.71% The Tower's Regressor is a Coward - Reincarnated as the Villain / Chapter 23: Leaders. Criminals. Cleansing. (6)

Capítulo 23: Leaders. Criminals. Cleansing. (6)

The regressor was still at the door, and the rest had already gathered around like a flock of pigeons would to drops of grain.

"Linguist," I called the regressor by the title I had given him. "Come here."

The regressor shivered when I called his name.

He looked straight at me.

And I glared back.

We would have to try again if he ruined this for me.

He knew that better than anyone else.

For both of us to stay alive, he had to make sure I didn't make him try again.

The regressor adjusted his coat, took in a deep breath, and walked over to me. The people blocking the path all turned their gazes toward him as they slowly cleared the path.

The regressor came in front of me, his eyes fell on the body below.

He seemed to be trembling.

Scared.

I looked into his eyes.

The regressor gulped. His fists clenched.

And slowly, he stepped over the corpse of Jimmy Corton before standing behind me.

That was enough.

"Now," I said, gazing at the members. "Do I need to repeat myself?"

"B-boss… why would…?"

I looked over at one side of the crowd. While I didn't have any idea of who did what, Lutein had given me enough of an information on the people that were going behind my back.

No there were likely others.

The ones I knew, were the ones that Lutein knew of and didn't kill.

The good guys of the story.

As a villain, not a single good guy was good for me.

"Spying on the place for the grand master of the martial alliance on the fourth floor."

I began.

"Trying to sabotage the operations by involving other hunters."

Another shook.

"Embezzlement."

One more flinched.

"Murder. In your gang."

My gaze swept over all of them.

The ones that were loyal shook with rage. While the ones that weren't shaken in frustration. And a fair group of them didn't care.

These people were everywhere.

The type that thought themselves too good for identity, the type that assumed that they were only here because they wanted to and could leave any time.

The ones full of themselves, the ones that made big promises still licked the depths of a trash can.

They were just as cancerous as traitors, if not more.

They had to go too.

And for that, I had to do something that would make all of them care about the current situation, while also making sure that the regressor is reminded once again.

That any world where I do not tread is one that will end him.

I needed to drive this fact into the regressor's head. So that no matter what happens, he would always, always come back for me.

And so, I leaned back on my seat.

My legs crossed, my coat fluttered.

I ran a hand through my hair and glared at the members.

"How… can I trust you? Any of you?"

"Boss!" A muscular one spoke. "Who are these bastards? We'll bring them to justice—"

"—JUSTICE!"

I screamed and slapped the table.

All of them flinched and jumped back in fear.

But they were right. Justice. Justice. I had to use justice here.

Justice always prevails.

"Justice… always prevails…"

That was true.

I glared at them all, my eyes curving into smiles.

"All of you. Kill each other."

They stopped.

"B-boss…?"

"Ativan?"

"Why?" I asked, leaning forward. "Doesn't justice prevail? If you have nothing to hide like this…"

My eyes fell on the corpse below. I sucked in air and stomped its head, grinding my foot on it.

"This fucking backstabbing bitch…"

My gaze turned back to them.

Tension left my body as I fell back down on the seat. My head slammed on the cushion and my gaze went up.

"Then kill each other. Only the righteous ones will survive."
