The moonlight slips in through the open window. In its light, Laith glistened. His eyes gleamed and lit up with joy as he changed, he was no longer soft and comfortable. Yet, his eyes were filled with light despite all he'd seen. 

Little did he know that his life was coming apart from right under his nose. The person holding his hand and aiding him to get through the life changes was the one pulling the pieces of his life apart. 

I was blinded by my troubles to notice. To see in this light, in the life that I've created for myself and the people I care for, the one who stands closest to me wasn't as close as before. 

I saw through the emptiness in his eyes when he smiled at me. Ywain's smile was as fake as the joy in his eyes, it was in the scent of death and the divine scent in his soul that awakened my eyes to him. I caught a glimpse of the void in his soul in the light jokes he made.
