"Well, you found a fallen man in the woods and returned him." Elika with the kids."
"A young man, yes." He claims to be only a passing through traveller."
"How could that have happened?"
"
"I'm not sure. They claim they don't recall the time
The only thing that kept me moving was going out to the monastery yard to warm up a little.
It was also difficult to tolerate the itching if I stayed in bed all day.
Despite the fact that this is not a hospital, I felt hospitalised and treated as a patient.
"···········?"
While I sat on a chair, taking in the landscape, I noticed familiar individuals emerging from the yard.
Elika, Tom, and Heron were there.
The three found me as well, but they didn't come over to say hello because they were so far away.
Heren was holding a book, while Elika and Tom were each holding a wooden sword.
The two guys wielding swords slightly relaxed before clashing with each other.
'Do you mean Dalian?'
In addition to them, I've seen a couple more youngsters in the yard holding wooden swords. Do you aspire to be a paladin in the future?
It was only one day, but based on the attitude we observed, the monastery did not appear to impose rigid lives and regulations on youngsters.
When Tom and Elica clashed their swords, Heren sat on a nearby rock and read a book.
I stood there passively watching them fight.
[Lv. 11]
Elika, the female, had a higher level than the two lads.
He appeared to have learnt how to build up magic, since the only thing he could feel was a smidgeon of magic.
They all appear to be around the same age as Rigon, so I couldn't help but think of him.
The level was low in comparison to Lygon, but he was never comparable in the first place.
It may not have been as methodical and carefully educated as youngsters from a wealthy home, but the level was fairly high.
percussion!
Tom's sword sailed into the air shortly after.
He groaned and clapped his fists loudly after missing the sword.
"Please be kind." You nearly ripped your hand."
Elica snorted and returned her gaze to Heren.
"I'm not yet relaxed; would you want to fight as well?"
"I'll hand it on to you."
They talked for a time before turning to face me.
Then he moved, getting closer.
"Good day, uncle!"
I was curious about what was going on, but Tom welcomed me enthusiastically first. I agreed by nodding.
"How come you're here when you can't even move your body?"
He gave a quick response to Elika's query.
"I came out for some fresh air."
She snorted and placed her hand on her waist.
"If you don't want to seem suspicious, don't roam about too much." You're an untrustworthy stranger. "I'm not the only one who thinks like this."
"········
There has never been a certain time."
All I had to do was come outside and sit in the yard, but what?
And he was well aware that whenever he came out, he drew the attention of the priests and paladins around him.
He got up to walk back to his room because it appeared like dealing with him would be troublesome. It was now time to turn around.
"Wait a minute," I say.
Elica suddenly reached out and grabbed my shoulder, pulling me. His body lost its balance and swayed in an instant.
That wasn't even a particularly powerful hand, yet it was necessary since he lacked the strength to walk.
turuk.
Elica caught me just as I was about to lose my attention and collapse.
My entire ached even when I stood motionless, but my back hurt. The perception had been entirely skewed.
With a perplexed expression, I turned my head.
She also stared at me, puzzled, and lifted her hand from the back of the support.
" didn't provide me with much strength. Anyway, what is it that makes you so frail?"
"Good day, Elika."
Heron abruptly stopped her from speaking.
I bit my tongue and inquired.
"What?"
"Please don't wander too far into the forest behind the monastery." You are not permitted to go there."
Where can you not go?
This was the point at which I was ready to ask why, wondering what it was again.
"Tom, Elika!"
A nun shouted as she approached from the side of the monastery structure.
As the two of them got frantic, they dashed to the other side and fled. Heren groaned and trailed him.
I was holding my breath as a nun approached me.
"I'm curious, what were those youngsters doing here?"
"I studied swordsmanship, but..."
"Okay. Please excuse me."
She nodded and resumed her run in the direction they had fled.
He looked to be messing around while he had other stuff to do, as evidenced by a mutter as he went away.
***
I hadn't been to the monastery in about a week.
Every day, I concentrated on my recuperation.
Although there was still some stiffness in my movements, the sharp sensation was practically gone.
It was after lunch, when I was wandering along the corridors and around the inside of the monastery.
I noticed a priest in front of me gathering up books and paperwork that had fallen on the floor. It was Thein, the priest.
I stood back and studied it before approaching it and raising my hand.
"We're here to assist."
"I'm sorry, Ethan. Thank you very much."
He thanked him with a smile.
"You appear to be leaving the room more frequently than before." "How much have you recovered?"
"Thank you for your convenience."
I automatically scooped up the fallen books and scanned the titles. It had to be a book like the Bible.
"Are you transporting everything by yourself?"
"Haha, yeah." Quit trying to absorb everything in at once because I'm too much..."
I'm puzzled why I'm moving so many books, and he stated that he'd seen such a sign of me.
"I need to transcribe the scriptures, but first I need to organise certain things."
What about the scriptures?
I instantly realised why I wanted to do this.
There is no printing press in this universe, therefore a book would have to be written by hand to be printed.
'Or would you like a typeface or something?'
I went through all of the books and papers, skimming through the contents.
A cursory inspection reveals that it is a collection of scriptural texts.
This is an universe in which a transcendent entity known as a god truly exists. Thus my curiosity arose unexpectedly.
Thein, who had all the books sorted next to me, questioned in a shocked tone as I read the poetry written on the paper for a time.
"Can you read adult language, Ethan?"
"···········?"
That's right. Indeed, think about it.
With those remarks, I remembered one of Lhasa's settings that I had forgotten about.
'Aside from the official language of the continent, the adult language was also utilised in the denomination.'
For a long time, the denomination employed their own distinctive script, and that was the term.
While it is based on the continent's official language, it is a far more obscure and challenging character.
So, did you mention that understanding those terms thoroughly is one of the most difficult challenges for priests?
'········
'How come I read so well?'
I took another look at the notes on the paper.
Looking at it again, I noticed it was close to yet definitely distinct from the continent's official language. Yet, it read correctly and without errors.
Can this, as the continent's official language, be interpreted?
"I can read it, yes."
Tane's eyes widened at my response, and he stared at me with concern.
"Can you read adult language, Ethan-san?"
That's when I understood I'd created a stupid misunderstanding.
This is due to the fact that the sacred language was a character that could only be mastered by priests.
I shook my head swiftly.
"I'm not a priest," I say.
"So, why do you use the idiom...?"
"············
I only discovered it out my personal interest. Because I like researching and analysing old languages and characters."
"Oh, that's right."
Tane bowed his head, little regretfully, as if he knew.
Yet, I could see a great deal of tenderness in his eyes.
"But, you put forth a lot of work." Even the most gifted persons born with intellect require at least a few years to completely grasp the language, and they studied it not out of piety, but simply with a spirit of curiosity."
