Capítulo 21: The Heavens Are With Me and Gu Ning.
Everyone in the room felt a cold aura, but when they looked towards its source, it vanished as if it had never been there.
Before them stood a veiled beauty, with gray, calm eyes, holding a rabbit in her arms.
The only one aware of the deep grudge and hatred hidden behind that composed gaze was Li Qiang.
Uncertain about the cause of Fang Xue's sudden change, Li Qiang asked, half-jokingly, "What happened? You even scared me for a moment," in an attempt to calm Fang Xue down.
Fang Xue replied, her voice cold, "You see that ugly old man over there? He's one of the people who helped capture my parents!" She struggled to control her bloodlust, directing it away from the old man.
Li Qiang heard Fang Xue's words and looked in the direction she pointed. She saw a man in his fifties, with a long black beard streaked with white, and a friendly smile on his face.
The old man's cultivation was at the Heavenly Connection Half Step level. His name was Gu Zemin, the Patriarch of the Gu Family.
Understanding Fang Xue's hatred, Li Qiang tried to advise her, "I understand your hate, but you must control yourself. You can't risk your life before achieving your goals."
"I know," Fang Xue replied, taking a deep breath and returning to her emotionless state.
After their brief exchange, Fang Xue approached Gu Zemin and another guest whose name she didn't know.
"Greetings, Patriarch Gu of the Gu Family," Hu Jiang respectfully greeted Gu Zemin.
"Greetings, Patriarch Gu!" Hu Wen, Hu Ling, and Fang Xue said in unison, bowing respectfully.
Although Fang Xue clenched her teeth and felt her bloodlust increasing with every passing second, she knew that now was not the time to make a mistake.
Unnoticed by Fang Xue and Li Qiang, the golden glow of Fang Xue's Asura Bloodline began to darken into a deep crimson.
Even if they had noticed, they wouldn't have understood its significance.
"No need to be so formal. I came to celebrate the fact that Miss Hu is alive," Gu Zemin's pleasant and gentle voice resounded throughout the room.
Fang Xue's hatred and disgust intensified upon hearing Gu Zemin's voice, causing her bloodline to react further, turning more of the golden glow into dark crimson.
"Hahaha, my little Wen was lucky to meet Miss Fang on her journey," Hu Jiang laughed, introducing Fang Xue to Patriarch Gu.
"My subordinates informed me about Miss Fang's exceptional strength, defeating someone at the 7th Level of Body Training while being only at the 5th Level. It's a rare sight," Gu Zemin praised, his eyes gleaming when he saw Fang Xue.
His gaze was not one of lust, but rather a desire to affiliate this girl with his family.
"Patriarch Gu, your praise is too generous. I am just a lowly cultivator with no affiliations," Fang Xue remarked, noticing the glint in Gu Zemin's eyes and formulating an evil plan in her mind.
"That makes your achievements even more remarkable. Without any support, you managed to reach this level of strength," Gu Zemin replied, smiling wider at Fang Xue's words.
"Changing the subject, I have brought my youngest son here. He has recently shown great talent and expressed a desire to meet Miss Hu upon hearing of her return," Gu Zemin introduced a 16-year-old boy with long black hair, blue eyes, a slim build, and a height that belied his age. He was undeniably handsome.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Hu," Gu Ning said, his voice gentle and pleasant, mirroring his father's. With a slight smile, he could captivate the heart of any maiden.
When Fang Xue first laid eyes on Hu Ning, a strange feeling stirred deep within her soul.
"Li'er, there's something wrong with him," Fang Xue conveyed to Li Qiang, sensing that Hu Ning was not normal, but unsure of the exact cause.
"You're right. He is someone from your previous world," Li Qiang responded, as a soul fragment, able to sense that Hu Ning's soul was not from this world but from Earth, just like Fang Xue.
Fang Xue's emotionless façade nearly cracked upon hearing those words. She was prepared for anything, but she never expected this.
"Even though you told me that Heaven would try to kill me, he is helping me. If the Heavens are not on my side, what is?" Fang Xue spoke to Li Qiang, a sense of joy and anticipation filling her, knowing that she could exact revenge on those she hated the most.
"It's equally a pleasure to meet you, Big Brother Gu," Hu Wen replied timidly, blushing as she fell for Gu Ning's charms.
Witnessing Hu Wen's reaction, a flash of pleasure crossed Gu Ning's eyes, but it was fleeting enough to go unnoticed.
However, Fang Xue and Li Qiang did catch the glimmer and began to wonder about his motives.
"Little Xue, I think he might know about Hu Wen's physique and wants to take advantage of it," Li Qiang shared her suspicions.
"How?" Fang Xue didn't grasp Li Qiang's meaning, but if Hu Wen's physique could benefit her as well, she was intrigued.
"Little Xue, dismiss that idea. What he wants is Hu Wen's Primordial Yin. Thanks to her Maiden Yin's physique, when someone takes her purity, the Primordial Yin becomes highly beneficial to the one who takes it. But if you don't employ a proper Dual Cultivation technique, Hu Wen will die," Li Qiang replied coldly, aware of Fang Xue's thoughts and firmly against the idea.
Fang Xue was momentarily taken aback by Li Qiang's response and tone, but quickly regained her composure.
"I can also use this. Hu Jiang loves Hu Wen, and if he discovers Gu Ning's plan, I can exploit this to make the Hu Family fight against the Gu Family." Plans and ideas on how to deal with the Gu Family raced through Fang Xue's mind.
Fang Xue was no fool. She wanted to kill Gu Zemin with her bare hands, but she understood that she would need support to take on the entire Gu Family. The Hu Family would be the perfect pawn for Fang Xue to use in her revenge.
