We finally reached the village, and despite the fact that we could've just teleported over there, I thought it would be best to take our time.
The more time we have to walk, the more time we have to think of a good speech that could get the people on our side.
I hope this could work out in my favor, I feel like I could somewhat relate to Teles myself. I always WANTED to have other friends besides Stephen, but I just didn't have the guts to do so.
I tried reaching out to other people I REALLY DID! But alas it just felt like I was trying too hard. Later on, it felt like my classmates started to avoid me on purpose, JEEZ they're acting like I committed murder!
Maybe I just gave up on myself in my previous world, but I know it's practically the opposite here for Teles.
I know she didn't ask for this fate, and I know what it's like to practice isolation, but self-isolation is the worst when you DON'T want to be alone, and you're forced into a corner.
I turned around to see my ender friend staring at the ground as she walked. Yeah, I can tell that Teles has a lot on her mind.
"It'll be fine!" I said, "Even IF they have nothing to do with you, I promise I will stay by your side okay?"
She nodded as we continued.
Jeez saying that reminded me of something Stephen said to me a long time ago. My memory of it is so foggy it's driving me crazy though!
It's like an itch that you can't scratch, I want to try and remember it, but I just CAN'T!!!
I do hope Stephen is alright wherever he's at, I know he's somewhere in this Minecraft-themed fantasy world. It's been a while since we got separated, I can only just cross my fingers that he's safe!

We approached the village gate, a wall of cobblestone I built a little while ago, Chief Richard put two guards at all 4 entrances to the battlement's doorways so people could safely go in and out.
I decided to break the mood and casually conversate with them in order to show the situation was calm. I walk up to the two guards.
"Evening guys!" I greeted them
"Oh hey, it's Takeo, what bri- GAH DON'T LOOK BEHIND YOU!!!" one of them said to me as they both drew their weapons at Teles.
Well that escalated fast, I guess I'm not the only one who was scared of enderman in this world...
"Woah woah woah heyyyy" I reassured them "She's with me, my friend Teles here doesn't kill, trust me!"
"What are you talking about? You know both monsters and demi-monsters aren't allowed in the village!" the other one told me.
Jeez, I guess Teles was right. Even when having a human appearance people will still see you as if you were just a normal hostile monster, that's rough!!! I need to prove that Teles is safe, but how?!?!!
"Well, you're looking at her right now, right? Do you sense any hostility from her? Teles here doesn't even LOOK like an actual enderman anymore." I proved
"Hmm, I don't know...."
They still didn't seem all convinced, I had a feeling this wasn't going to be easy, but I don't think standing here arguing would make us any progress.
It's best that I just start from the top, I could get Richard's opinion on this matter. Having a higher-up decision can increase my chances here!
That way even if the guards can't trust Teles, I can have a finishing answer, and she might still be allowed to roam the village.
However, nothing is saying that Richard would allow any of this to begin with, but it could at least increase my probability of success here!
"Look, how about this, can we get the Chief's opinion on the matter?" I offered
"I'm sorry, but rules are rules!"
"Even an escort over to the office?"
"Wait, what do you mean?"
I decided to make this a quick rebuttal "Watch us simply walk over there! She won't teleport once!" I said
"We can't let a monster get this close and personal to the chief without a completely valid reason!"
GAH this is going nowhere!!! I can't completely blame them though, these guards are just doing their jobs. I tried to brainstorm something new to say.
I felt a hand go on my shoulder, I looked back to Teles who was behind me.
"Mind if I say something?"
"Knock yourself out..." I replied
Teles herself stepped forward, and she began to give her side to the situation. Some of the few things she explained were an abbreviated version of the story she told me earlier to the guards.
About the monsters who were once human, the reason they needed XP, and her connection to me. Of course, she left out the parts about the time she had to kill other humans against her will, which was honestly a pretty smart choice, but she was still crazy responsible about this whole situation, I guess I might as well just leave it to her at this point.

"So you see, in the end, it would be wasteful if I tried to fight people in this village, I don't wish to hurt others, and I don't want all those years I spent hunting for XP to go to disappear because I died trying to kill the residents," Teles concluded
"Well, that makes a lot of sense..." one of the guards said
"I guess she doesn't look like the other monsters, especially the few enderman I saw on my shifts..."
"I've known her for a long time now, if she really intended to kill, she would've killed me a while ago!" I said, "I'm not saying you have to trust her immediately, but just meet us halfway?"

The guards stepped to the side and talked among themselves.
After a few minutes, they turned back to us and said: "We'll let you come in for now, but we're gonna call someone so we can keep a close eye on you, any suspicious activity and we'll have no choice but to take immediate action!" Said the one
"We're only allowing this because you're friend Takeo is a trusted resident in this place," the other said "You will go straight to your desired location, nowhere else!"
Teles nodded in agreement "Got it!"
I couldn't believe it, is actually working well so far! However we may be able to get the OK from the guards, but the real deciding factor would be Richard's choice on the matter.
I really hope this works out, because if anyone is crazy about keeping the village safe the most, it's him!
