Zenesha couldn't help but observe Prime once more; it was just that dragons were really such impressive creatures that are often synonymous with the world legend itself.
Even in the real world, she came from, dragons were only stories from myths and fantasies. And as she came to this world with a considerable number of races described other than the wolves, she still didn't remember that there was a mention of a dragon in the book.
"Are you really a dragon?" Zenesha confirmed that it was just surprising for her that she had to ask again.
Compared to earlier, while she was still wary of the danger of the other person, she was at least already comfortable enough to have a talk with him.
With her question, Prime cracked a smile and seemed to enjoy it whenever Zenesha's expression changed to surprise. He simply nodded, still in his laid-back position. It seemed he was someone who didn't care to answer each of Zenesha's questions.
Thinking of this, Zenesha's eyes flashed with insight as she tried to probe him to see if she could really ask him something.
Prime only curled his lips as if waiting for Zenesha to speak, the corner of her lips twitched because of this. Why was it like he could see through her? Was he a mind reader, too?
"If you can suppress the influence of this world on me, does that mean you are also not within its constraints?" Zenesha inquired, having dabbled in more crucial questions.
She wasn't the type of person who would beat around the bush and would inquire about the basics first. Time was of the essence. Zenesha was extremely desperate to escape her fate, and learning about this world was something related to that main goal of hers.
Prime's smile had broadened again before he spoke. "Not bad, asking important matters first than the useless ones." His tone was that of a judge evaluating someone again as if commending her for this good trait.
Zenesha bit his tongue so as to not argue with him, but she was still aware that in this conversation, Prime was still in an advantageous position. She might have a terrible personality, but she could also endure, and she had the patience that an assassin should possess.
Seeing her like this, Prime nodded and smiled but didn't comment anymore about her qualities that he liked before finally answering her question.
"You're right, this world can't restrict me." Prime simply answered, and Zenesha's eyes brightened with this answer. She also waited for the other to continue with his words, yet was disappointed when Prime didn't say anything after that.
Zenesha's gaze toward the other had become more intense than ever; it was as if the one before her was the manifestation of all the answers to her questions and even her hope. In fact, that was really the case.
Prime only had a sheepish grin on his lips, enjoying her hot and intense gaze. At some point, Zenesha realized that this dragon really had a rather approachable personality.
However, that didn't mean she was lowering her guard against him. She still didn't trust him, but she wasn't new to using a considerable disadvantage to escape her predicament. Zenesha had experienced biting the bullet a lot of times in her most dangerous missions before.
For now, she could only see her hope in at least getting away from the shackles that had been keeping her from finding the method to escape. With this thought, Zenesha calmed down, and her demeanor changed. While she was still looking at Prime with eyes filled with expectations, it wasn't so intense anymore that it resembled that of an avid admirer.
It was much more mellow, and she wore the expression that she often used when she was still in her own world and negotiating with an employer or even with her missions. It was considerably calm, which had been amplified by her current appearance.
Compared to the Zenesha that was always smiling and had a gentle and kind appearance for a queen, she was even more apparent as a queen with her current demeanor, which was far more intimidating.
Prime's left brow lifted slightly, and it seemed his interest in her had grown once more. Zenesha didn't bother with this as she was even taking his opportunity as fortunate. Being noticed by a mysterious dragon, like Prime held extreme danger, yet it was also the key to her escape.
"I know you are not showing your abilities to me just to show off and tease me for my hopeless situation." Like before, Zenesha cut to the chase and went straight to the matter at hand. Her voice was firm, another contrast to the sweet voice she often had.
Prime didn't say anything and listened to her attentively, his grin remained on his lips.
Zenesha continued, not minding the other's reactions and expressions. She remained composed and said what was on her mind.
"So, Prime, tell me... what are your motives to tell and show me all this?" Zenesha inquired, and her blue eyes locked eyes with his golden ones. Her eyes were filled with hope and expectations.
Even her heart was now pounding so fast in her chest. She wasn't confident, but she followed her intuition. Zenesha wanted to know Prime's motives and what she could do for him to help her.
"It seems my trip is not in vain," he chuckled as his eyes glinted with interest before he put his fingers in his lips, which still had a menacing grin on them.
Zenesha didn't interrupt; her heart was pounding as though it wanted to escape from her chest. She was waiting for Prime's confirmation of her conjectures and to hear his motives.
Prime didn't make her wait for too long either, as he spoke once more. However, this time, the grin on his lips faded somewhat, but his laid-back demeanor remained unchanged.
"I can help you suppress the influence of the world on you from time to time." Prime's voice was like an enchantment that shrouded the whole room as it sounded in Zenesha's ears, pulling her into a trance. Her chest heaved, waiting for the next words. She believed that nothing was free in the world.
"On one condition, you have to help me find something in this world." He continued in a much more solemn tone than before; his gaze was fixed on her and seemed to even pierce through her soul.
"Something? What is that?" Despite the pressure emanating from Prime, Zenesha managed to ask about her confusion. If she didn't know what that was, how could she help him?
However, instead of answering, Prime averted her gaze, lifted his gaze, and seemed to look into the distance. His eyes narrowed before shifting his gaze back to her.
Zenesha was confused and looked in the same direction, but she didn't see anything aside from the ceiling. She returned her gaze to Prime, her eyes filled with questions.
"Time's up,'" he shrugged and sighed. "I'll tell you next time, it seems... those guys attached so much importance in this world."
She couldn't understand what Prime was saying suddenly, but she did manage to focus on the key word in his statement.
"Those guys? who?" Zenesha asked, somewhat perplexed.
Prime stared at her, his gaze deeper than a few times before. It was as if he were assessing her again in a different light than his initial impression.
"Knowing them while you still can't control your body is not a good thing," but then he continued with a smile on his lips again, giving her a hint. "But it seemed you met one of them before,"
Her brows furrowed, she met one of them before? A few seconds later, a realization dawned on her, was he talking about that lunatic who punished her?
However, before she could think further, Prime flicked his fingers, and in an instant, the shackles in her soul had come back.
Aww, my poor Zenesha.
