Capítulo 615: Chapter 615: Your Names Have Become Sacred

Lordaeron is buzzing, with cheers filling the air, unceasingly. Because ordinary people lack the courage, they admire Uther's true bravery. Because they can't achieve it themselves, they sing praises of Duke's magical fist.

People are crying, laughing, and dancing in every corner of the southern city, welcoming the heroes with fervor. Deathwing, also known as Neltharion, was primarily slain by four ancient guardian dragons. But had it not been for these two heroes, the cunning Black Dragon would have escaped.

Even more so, by tradition, those who partake in dragon-slaying have the right to bear the title of Dragon Slayer.

Do you think dodging Dragon Breath is easy? Outsiders see the spectacle; insiders see the process. After witnessing the earth-shattering battle, one would understand the horror of the Black Dragon.

Even if Neltharion was weakened, how powerful must Duke be to effectively hit and injure him? Not every Alliance leader has fought alongside Duke, but this moment has moved every king.

Especially Daelin Proudmoore, who once cooperated with Duke at Baradin Bay but was busy fighting the Horde's Blademaster Samuro. Now, he was finally astonished.

Seeing his beloved daughter Jaina jumping joyfully with the cheering crowd, Daelin secretly made a decision...

As Duke and Uther returned in triumph, it felt like a continuation of their previous parade in Lordaeron, which now seemed to pale in comparison to their real triumph.

Tirion Fordring and several other paladins dismounted from their gryphons, which were stationed in different directions of the city in case of emergency. They eagerly greeted Uther.

King Magni complained to Duke, "You should've teleported me too, so I could perform a real 'Avatar' in front of Deathwing."

"Enough, every time I invite you for a gryphon ride, you say you're busy with military affairs," retorted Kurdran without any reservation.

"It's a dream! Can't I have a dream?"

High Tinker Gelbin Mekkatorque chimed in, "Without Duke, Uther would've been dead. I'm considering equipping every gryphon rider with a high-altitude escape device."

Duke's facial muscles twitched. In the Azeroth of the future where dark technologies run rampant, there indeed were many engineering devices designed for jumping off buildings.

By this time, most of the Alliance's kings and representatives had arrived.

"Where's Genn?" asked Llane Wrynn quietly to Thoradin.

"He's still hiding in the cave," replied King Thoradin irritably.

Antonidas whispered to everyone, "It seems Princess Calia has been killed; Terenas is grieving."

Thoradin was shocked, "Didn't Duke save the Princess?"

"He did, but after handing her over to the royal guards, she was unfortunately hit by a blob of acid."

"That's... truly unfortunate," murmured the kings.

No one knew that their beautiful little princess had already begun her journey through the world.

At this moment, the crowd surrounding Duke suddenly parted.

Even King Terenas wouldn't receive such treatment. The only person who could command such respect was Archbishop Alonsus Faol.

"Praise the Light," said Faol, looking at Uther who knelt on one knee. Uther was his most admired disciple, perfectly embodying the combination of the Light and combat.

"This is all thanks to the guidance of the Light," Uther bowed his head deeply.

Archbishop Faol approached Duke and said, "Your joint feat against Deathwing has inspired the world. Could you share some of the credit with Uther, to better spread the Light and courage throughout the world?"

"Without Uther's cover, I couldn't have hit Neltharion. It's only fair," Duke quickly agreed.

"Thank you for your generosity," Faol moved to his disciple. "Uther, my pupil, you have proven the meaning of your existence and the Light with your fearless actions. Therefore, I propose to bestow upon you the title 'Lightbringer,' which you can use as your surname."

The room erupted. Archbishop Faol making such a proposal in front of the kings was a big deal.

Duke was the first to shout, "Agreed!"

"We all agree!"

On December 25, Year 2 of the Dark Portal, two names became sacred:

One was Alliance Deputy Commander Duke Marcus, now rightfully bearing the title "Dragon Slayer."

The other was Uther, who leapt from being a common paladin from an ordinary family to Uther Lightbringer.
