Capítulo 458: Chapter 458: Into the Dream

Beware of Gul'dan?

Duke found Archbishop Alonsus's warning quite perplexing. If his understanding of history was correct, Gul'dan was currently preoccupied with something far more important.

Originally, Gul'dan was a genius shaman on the planet Draenor, apprenticed to Ner'zhul, the most powerful shaman recognized among many clans at the time. However, in pursuit of greater power, he quickly abandoned his master and pledged allegiance to Kil'jaeden, the commander of the Burning Legion.

Now, his audacity to betray the Horde was also based on the same reason—power.

Upon learning that Sargeras had been cast into the abyss by Duke, Anduin, and Medivh, Gul'dan was arrogant enough to believe he could open Sargeras's tomb, unearth the fallen titan who had defeated several creator titans, and steal his power.

According to history, when he and his clan opened the dungeon door of Sargeras's tomb that rose from the seabed, Gul'dan found only madness waiting for him. In the end, Gul'dan paid the price for his greed, torn to pieces by the mad demons he himself had released.

If Duke was initially worried about Gul'dan targeting him, casting a deadly curse with a mere glance, now he saw Gul'dan as a prince courting death, and he could remove him from the list of threats.

Duke was wrong, and he was wildly off the mark.

After Alleria and Sylvanas set off first, Duke was left with nothing to do. It's not simple to mobilize an army. Rangers can march at a moment's notice with their bows and arrows. As experts in wilderness survival, as long as there are forests, these rangers, who have an advantage in jungle warfare, won't starve.

Duke's army, however, couldn't do that.

Since leaving Hillsbrad and entering Hinterlands, the Gryphon Legion had been on the move for thousands of miles, hardly resting properly. Damaged armor, medical supplies, handling of the wounded, all had to be paid for by Lordaeron. Moreover, leaving human settlements and entering the forest, a large amount of dry food and other things had to be prepared.

That was naturally handled by Reginald, the future Grand Marshal.

Duke... Duke was sleeping.

And then Duke was hit.

Duke rarely dreams, but when he does, his dreams are often more real than most people's. Other people's dreams are often fragmented, with various absurd images, and no sound. Duke's dreams, on the other hand, not only have sound and images, but also a complete plot...

Now, Duke was witnessing the following magical scene:

This was a night sky completely different from Azeroth's. The entire universe seemed like an incredibly large sphere of chaos, firmly enveloping Azeroth, with a nearly empty black chaos in sight.

The dark chaos clouds were constantly rolling, and from time to time, long comets with green tails broke through the thick clouds and fell to the ground.

Duke stood on the scorched earth, staring at the night sky in confusion, not knowing what to do.

Suddenly, a strange sound came from the sky, like a heavy bomber flying overhead, making a piercing whistling sound from far to near.

As if quickly pulled by some mysterious force from a scenic film to a war film set, this sound soon turned into a sharp noise that shocked the eardrums, shaking so much that the eardrums were about to burst and bleed.

Duke only saw a huge meteor burning with green flames falling from the sky, entering from the left side of his vision, and in

an instant, rushing out from the right side of his vision, plunging straight into this crystal forest.

"Damn!" Duke only had time to let out a dissatisfied grunt before a chaotic torrent mixed with countless sharp stone fragments rushed towards him, flipping him over onto the ground.

The rumbling sound of the meteor hitting the ground was continuous, and the rising dust covered almost all of his vision. Duke lifted his head, propped himself up with his hands, and when he clumsily got up from the ground, he only felt a burning pain on his face.

He touched it subconsciously and couldn't help but feel a deep pain.

Damn! Such a deep cut, and so much blood, I'm disfigured.

A series of heavy footsteps that shook the earth came, attracting all of Duke's attention. A huge stone giant, burning with green flames all over, stood proudly less than two meters in front of Duke.

Duke looked up a bit blankly, seeing the emotionless inorganic eyes on the skull-shaped head of the other party. To be precise, those were not a pair of eyes, they were more like some kind of energy gathering point.

Evil and emitting a cold light that was completely inconsistent with its high body temperature.

Not only the eyes, but all the places where the skull was not covered, there were green flames burning from the inside.

[Hellfire]

A terrifying war machine. A regular human with no special abilities would only meet death when facing it. The huge body that is over three stories high, just standing there is full of oppression.

"Boom, boom, boom!" Another round of loud noises, and Duke was surrounded by a circle of [Hellfire].

That kind of overwhelming pressure, that kind of intense heat that made the air around it hard to breathe, that kind of invisible spiritual pressure, made Duke's face change drastically.

He didn't know how these Hellfires came, he only knew that his life was under threat.

"Human—kneel! Kneel to the master of the Burning Legion! Otherwise, I will have your soul suffer forever under the roasting of eternal flames."

Kneel?

Master of the Burning Legion?

Isn't that Sargeras, who I overthrew?

The slight fear that Duke originally had in his heart was suddenly swept away by this line that Duke found incredibly amusing.

"Hahaha! I'm dying of laughter! Your boss knelt when he met me. And you think you can do something?" Duke stood up proudly, his eyes full of clear contempt.

Yes! Contempt!

The kind of contempt a higher being has for a lower one!

A second later, Duke made his move.

No one knew how Duke did it, but very abruptly, two forty-meter long golden battleship-cutting swords appeared in Duke's hands.

"Ooh la la la—eat my [Meteor Burst Slash]!" Duke shouted an inexplicable move name.

A round of light more brilliant than the fire flashed by.

Hundreds of Hellfires were shattered and disappeared like overturned blocks.

Duke sneered, "Your so-called 'terror' can only scare unenlightened dogs, sorry, it won't work on me!"

In front of Duke, a shadow was slowly condensing into a form, quietly writhing, and soon turned into a figure Duke was familiar with—Gul'dan, the demi-god warlock of the Horde.

He was hunched over, his coarse mouth wide open, revealing a mouthful of fangs with a foul smell.

"Huh huh! Duke Marcus, you are indeed an interesting human. Since I can't corrode and control you mentally, don't blame me. Oh, strictly speaking, this is not my doing, I just activated a small backdoor left in your body by Sargeras."

The next instant, Duke woke up from his dream. He saw Gavinrad, who had rushed into his room with a panicked expression, and Vanessa, who had even drawn the dagger from her thigh.

Then, right in front of them, Duke slowly froze himself. His fingers became stiff, his breath turned into ice, and his hair began to turn white...
