Capítulo 6: Chapter 6: Goblin evolution

Time passed, and as it passed by, the child grew bored of watching the two goblins constantly smash their hips together.

Plus, whether he was right or wrong all comes down to whether the female goblin will be pregnant. But even if its eggs are fertilized, it should take a while before it shows signs of pregnancy.

So he decided to do something while he waited. Without looking for long, he finally found something to do in the meantime. His near-omnipotent gaze lingered on his core. Deep within and written in his very being, the knowledge of how goblins are made existed. His gaze shifted back to the two goblins. Looking at their weak arms and poultry-like legs, the child had a thought.

"If I am right and everything goes as planned, that means I will create many goblins, and they will be able to protect me."

But a thought within him keeps popping up and troubling his mind.

"But they are too weak. Although I do not have a clear idea of how strong mortals are in this universe, if I were to take Earth as an example, then the goblins do not have a chance. Even on earth, goblins were known to be very weak. So unless my gate appears somewhere in an isolated place, then they will surely not survive."

He then returned his gaze to the goblin's creation inheritance. A thought that had never crossed many dungeons across the universe suddenly sat deep in his mind.

"Since the goblins are weak, then why don't I improve them?"

And the more he started thinking, the more deeply rooted this thought became. As of today, the child had the goblin creation inheritance. Which was like a recipe book on how to make goblins. This recipe has been in existence for millions of years, or maybe longer. Many dungeons have used this recipe many times before. But is it perfect?

That was what the child was curious about.

To bring about any change in the whole recipe, he would, of course, change the very codes that determine how the organism works. If what the child was working with was a human, he would have to change the human's genes. Mapping it such that it would become a completely different being.

But goblins aren't humans; they are dungeon monsters. Unlike most mortals, they don't have genes in their bodies but instead have cores. These cores act in a way similar to how genes do. Within every core, there are a set of codes that map out not only the growth but also the inheritance of the goblin.

So in order to truly change the race for the better, he would have to change the goblin core. This is, of course, not easy, as the amount of information contained within a single core is no different from what a human cell does. If a human were to try to even change the codes of a goblin without any assistance, they would likely never finish it, even at the end of their days.

But the child was not human. Not only did his mind work differently, but he also had an innate affinity for goblin creation, which brought about his inheritance. Which means that as he is, he knows almost everything there is to know about goblin creation.

After some time of thinking, the child decided it was time to put his idea into action.

Using his core as a drawing board, the child drew out a multitude of different diagrams. All these lines and codes come together to form a sphere. The sphere of diagrams and letter-like symbols was simply what a monster core would look like if it were laid out.

The sphere looked complex and practically complete. The child zoomed in deep within to a part of the matrix, like creation. This part was responsible for the muscle formation within the goblin's body.

This was the part the child was most interested in changing. As the goblins were too weak, he wanted to increase their muscle strength and make them stronger. Such that even if they were to go head-to-head with a single human, they would not instantly lose.

So the child pulled his will towards the part, changing what is written such that the quality of muscle made it far stronger than normal. But as soon as he did, the whole structure turned red.

"A collapse? "I barely changed a thing."

Although the child had only changed a single part of the goblin structure, that structure was connected to many other structures. Although the change was small, it affected how other parts worked. So when that part changed, the other parts also had to be changed.

It was just like how gears worked. If one part was made bigger, all the other parts had to be bigger too.

If he changed the muscle density, he had to make the bones strong enough to handle it. Since the muscles were denser, they required more energy to work. So the heart must be made stronger to pump blood faster. But blood can't just be pumped faster with nothing inside, so the lungs must be able to convert oxygen faster as well. Since the lungs...

"This is a lot harder than I thought."

But he did not give up; this only meant it would take longer to be complete. Luckily, though, he is in a calm part of the universe. As far as his senses can reach, there is not a world in sight. So the likelihood of being connected to or pulled by the world's spatial pull is unlikely.

As such, the child began his experiments on goblin evolution. Hoping to one day be able to create a goblin far behind its peers

...

While the child was occupied by his own ideas and plans, somewhere far away, a certain scene that was entirely unrelated to him was occurring.

"Son, what do you have to say for yourself?"

in a bright and palace-like place. A tall figure sat on a throne. His long hair was white, and so was his skin. Wrinkles formed on his cat-like nose, showing his anger clearly. But although he sat angrily on the throne, he did not exude a tyrannical aura. He instead looked like a fierce king, ready to execute as he wished.

"Father, I see nothing wrong with what I did. I love her, and I see no reason why I should not be with her."

The one who said these words was a young man. Just like the man on the throne, he had a cat-like nose and white hair. And because he was kneeling, unlike his father, the white tail behind his back could be seen.

When he uttered these words, the young black woman beside him smiled. But the people standing at the sides reacted otherwise.

"You foolish brat! You dare taint our majestic bloodline by bedding this slave. Yet still stand in front of the king and say you have done nothing wrong?"

A middle-aged man with a lean body and features just like the young man, and he said from the small crowd. When his words were said, the crowd agreed with him.

The young man, on the other hand, did not seem to care for these people's thoughts. He only stood kneeling at the king, who is his father.

"Silence!"

With a strong and overpowering shout, he silenced all. He then looked at his child kneeling below.

"I do not care if your love is a slave. What I do care about is the child that now grows within her belly. What she houses is a child that has our family's bloodline and another's. You know full well that the family rules, son. We do not breed beyond our species. As such, our rules do not allow the child's birth."

"That is why I plan to challenge the rules!"

The young man stood still, kneeling. His actions looked as humble as ever, but his words spoke clearly of his will. The crow was once again riled up.

"Blasphemous!"

"You dare..."

"Silence!"

Once again, the king's shout silenced the crowd.

"Speak," the king said.

The young man stood up from his kneeling position and looked towards his father.

"We of the Tigerra kind are not politicians. From old, we followed our claws and weapons."

As he spoke, he slowly took off his bracelets, sword, and all other things apart from his shirt.

"We have encountered rules before, as he has broken them as we wished."

Suddenly, his muscles grew bigger, and hair started growing all around his body.

"Today I stand, claiming that this rule does not apply to me. If there is anyone who disagrees, then I will welcome them to a duel."

The change occurring in his body suddenly accelerated. Leaving behind not the young man seen before but a giant white tiger with wings on its back.

The giant tiger roared and looked back at the crowd. The crowd cowered at his fierce look, so he did something else with them. He thus became his own father. Who smiled and looked at his son proudly.

"Well said. But this is my rule, so you have to obey."

The king said this before standing up.
