"I'm so sorry, Len. I have no idea our meeting with him would turn out like this." Adrienne clenched her fist on her lap and lowered her head in shame as they drove back home after meeting Harvey Qin. 

The limousine gave them the necessary privacy and allowed them to process the unexpected events in silence. Adrienne's mind raced with regret as she replayed their conversation with Harvey over and over again, searching for any signs of warning that they had missed. 

When Carlos Cheng told her Harvey Qin wanted to meet her and Lennox, she should have considered the potential consequences more carefully. Alas, how was she supposed to know that Harvey Qin would use this opportunity to reveal himself as Lennox's real father?

Lennox glanced at his wife and sighed. He moved closer and pulled her into his lap before burying his face in her hair. 

"It's not your fault, Addie," he whispered softly. "We couldn't have predicted what Harvey Qin would tell us."
