Capítulo 272: A Lecture Worth A Lot of Points, Part 1

Our victory was far from perfect, but it was a victory. Ultimately, I checked the boxes of all the goals I sought to achieve last night. 

Save the town of Arefu from a circus of murdering vampires?

Check. 

The town was now free of bloodsuckers. It would be that way so long as Carmina kept her promise and remained in power. I expected that hers would be a long reign, and not just because I hoped for it. I'd helped her earn her crown, so it was in my best interest to see her keep it. 

And yes, I didn't forget the original purpose of this weekend's assignment, which I fully expected to get full marks on even though Mistress Lorelai was giving me an earful about reckless endangerment and a bunch of other naughty things I didn't quite care about. 

"The number of rules you've broken this night should be enough to expel both you and Ms. Lockwood from the Academy," my dökkálfar instructor threatened.
