Capítulo 17: Three Stars Falls
At 7:30 p.m. on July 24, Stars Alpha's team made their way into the Arklay mountains, searching for their missing team. After searching to find Bravo's crashed helicopter and preparing to land, Williams team two is in the shadows watching them and reporting everything that happens to William. When the Alpha team lands on the crashed helicopter, they find the mutilated body of RPD officer Kevin Dooley with no sign of the rest. The team splits up, and Stars member Joseph Frost walks a little too far from the others and is attacked by a pack of mutated Bows Cerberuses. While fighting them, he kills' three of them before he's attacked from behind, his neck is broken, and he's pounced on by multiple Bows. The rest of the team rushes to help him, and Stars member Jill Valentine sees Frost's body getting torn apart and is frozen on the spot.
Quick to recover, she starts shooting at them and is backed up by fellow officer Chris Redfield, but more Bows show up and force the two to flee. As they run over each other, the helicopter pilot, Brad Vickers, flees away, scared by the attacks on the others. One of the Bows caches up to Chris and is about to bite him when Capitan Albert Wesker shoots and kills it as he tells them to come on, and they soon start running to the mansion along with Berry Burton. On the run, Chris gets separated while the rest make it through the front doors of the mansion.
Everything is reported and witnessed by William, who orders team two to split up and have one pair go and watch Chris while the other monitors the front door and kills any Bows that get near them quietly. While he Shapeshifts into Al Lester and makes his way to the graveyard, after splashing some mud on himself and killing a zombie and using its jaws to bite a piece of skin off and letting it bleed, William lets out a scream and then runs into the main hall, where there are three guns pointing at him. Unknown to William, his scream was also noticed by the Stars members barricaded in the medical storage room to go out and investigate, With Edward Dewey and Kenneth Sullivan going out to look. leaving the resting Forest and wounded Richard Aikens in the care of Rebecca Chambers.
"Hold your hands up."
"Don't shoot, please; I don't want to die!"
"Who are you?"
"I'm a doctor; my name is Al Lester."
"Calm down and tell us what happened here."
Wait, you don't know? Are you not from Umbrella?"
Umbrella, what do they have to do with this place?"
"They're the ones who made all the monsters!"
With Jill confused, William smirks inwardly and then bolts out of the room, heading to the dining room, yelling at them that Umbrella was going to kill them all. In the dining room, newly arrived Edward and Kenneth see Al Lester running at them, and their instincts after the last few days kick in and they open fire on him. William, seeing them shoot at him, moves in a way where one of the bullets hits him in the neck and then turns around to run back into the main hall and collapse in front of Jill, Berry, and Wesker. Jill rushes to Al's side, turns him onto his back, and hears him muttering something.
"Don't let me turn into one of those things."
Jill, not knowing what he meant, watches as Al Lester 'dies' and turns to see Edward and Kenneth come out, and they see them.
"Jill, Berry Thank God you're here."
Edward, what happened?"
After telling them what happened and letting them know Rebeca knows more, Wesker starts giving orders. Jill and Berry search the mansion, and having Edward and Kenneth search the courtyard for the missing Enrico, While he goes and talks to Rebeca, but in reality, he is using this chance to escape their notice. He also moves the 'dead' body out of the way, giving William a good view of everything happening in the main hall.
After everyone split up to search the place, a disheveled Chris came in later and found the 'dead' body and yelled out for Jill and the other Stars members. Not knowing what to do, Chris searches the mansion, missing Jill and Berry, and eventually finds the room Rebeca was in. He then unites with his best friend Forest, and he tells them the Alpha team is scattered and facing more problems. Rebecca leaves the others and moves with Chris, while the other two will heal up a bit more and before joining the search.
With everyone in pairs, Albert makes his way back to the main hall and moves to achieve his objectives. While everyone is running around searching the place, William watches as they meet up and continue to split up, looking for people and a way out of the place. Eventually William hears that Richard Aikens died to protect Chris and hears Jill say something about a chained monster that went after her at the cabin in the forested area. Finally getting a lead on Lisa, William waits for the room to be cleared before leaving to find her. He also tells team two to get a truck ready to move Lisa when he gets her.
When William gets outside to the courtyard, he sees Jill making her way down a ladder behind a waterfall and waiting a few minutes to follow her. He also sees Albert going after her. Wait a bit, William follows him, sticks to the shadows, and follows Albert until they reach an area and hear some of the voices of Jill and the long-missing Enrico talking and Enrico saying Umbrella set them up and there's a spy on the Stars team. But before he can say more, William sees Albert shoot and kill him before running away. William then goes to find Lisa so he can save her and right the wrongs done to her by Albert and others.
