This was a quote Hade had heard so many times but never once understood.

Age-old tales told of distinguished practitioners going into closed cultivation for hundreds or even thousands of years; magic experts surviving on nothing but the sap from a single Wicked Bitterweed leaf; and epic battles that could take weeks or months to decide a victor.

Hade used to scoff whenever he heard such inflated stories. After all, such were the sort concocted by embittered spinsters and jaded old fools with not much else to live for.

However, at this moment in time, Hade could also attest that there was nothing in this world quite like this feeling.

...The feeling of progressing endlessly and continuously multiplying his strength... there was nothing in this world he would exchange it for.

Quinn and Dorian had arrived over two hours ago but Hade had not bothered to go and greet either one of them.
