Capítulo 8: New Power? Awesome!
"I'm not sure who or what was there, but there was something." Joel explained. "I know it sounds crazy, but I'm telling the truth!"
"You're not crazy. I thought when HE and I clashed, I had killed him, but apparently he still lives. The bug on your sister's head proves it. That is called a fleshbug, and it is made out of the man who I'm here to kills flesh. It's body reaches into the host's brain, allowing them to be controlled."
"We can't remove it then?"
"I didn't say that!" Jotaro's Star Platinum reached down and pulled the fleshbug out with pinpoint precision.
Brianna woke with a start, her head bleeding from the wound left by the fleshbug. "W-Where am I? Where is that blond guy? Why are you here?" Brianna barraged them with questions. After explaining what happened, Brianna recounted her story.
"Hmm, I should explain to you who we're after, just to make sure nothing happens again. We are hunting DIO, the mysterious villain who has been terrorizing city after city. I was not fully sure he would be here, but you've confirmed my suspicions. Brianna did indeed run into him, and he could've easily killed you, Brianna." Jotaro looked at Brianna, who realized just who she was dealing with.
"So what your saying, had I been rude or anything to him, he could've killed me. That's just great! I love life." Brianna took a shallow breath and then passed out again.
"We should have enough supplies for a day or two, so we should wait this storm out while recooperate." Joel fell onto one of the makeshift beds and fell asleep. Jotaro followed suit, but what awaited them in the following days was an even greater threat than anything then had ever faced.
TWO DAYS LATER…..
Joel had made a trip to get more supplies with Jojo, to ensure their safety they traveled in pairs wherever they went.
Yaaaawnn…. "Ugh, my head. What happened?" Polnareff woke up and saw a ghostly figure standing a just a few inches away from Jotaro's face. It was almost as if it was an actual ghost about to kill Jotaro.
"Jotaro! Look out, a stand or stand user is about to kill you!" Polnareff shouted.
"Be quiet! Jotaro is resting, I'm just putting a rag with hot water on his head. I just heated up some water to keep us warm." Matthew emerged from the shadows next to the figure. It was just Yami, Matthew's stand, that was tending to Jotaro.
A knock was heard on the wood of the base, which Joel had been working on over the last couple of days.
"We're back! While we were at the store we found some weird looking arrows, and we figured it best if we brought them home with us." Jojo opened the front door and held up three arrows and a bag of groceries. Polnareff noticed two regular arrows and a special arrow. The special arrow seemed to glow in the firelight of Jojo's stand.
Images flashed through Polnareff's mind. Images of the future? Or maybe of a parralel universe. He saw a black figure that looked like Silver Chariot, but stronger, holding the very arrow in front of them. REQUIEM! He wasn't sure how he knew the word, but he knew that it was a REQUIEM arrow. The power inside of the arrow was not supposed to be used. It was too dangerous.
"Drop the arrows NOW!" Polnareff shouted with such force that he threw the arrows on the floor. The two normal arrows fell into the snow, while the REQUIEM arrow stuck into the went farther than both arrows and landed on the wooden board floor.
"Hm? Polnareff what's wrong?" The shouting woke up Brianna and Jotaro, who had been sleeping, and Yami floated forward, reaching for the arrow.
"NO!" What happened next, no one could've predicted. There was a bright flash of light, and a stream of blood shot out from Matthew's hand. Yami's hand started to steam and burn with a bright white light as the arrow dug further and further before completely disappearing into Yami. A bright light shined from Matthew's body before Yami was pulled onto Matthew's body. Where Matthew was before, Yami was there instead. Matthew had disappeared.
"DAMNIT!" Polnareff jumped up, grabbed Jotaro and Brianna, and dragged them to the front door of the base.
"Come on, let's go now!" Polnareff shouted.
"Polnareff, no one is leaving until you tell us what just happened. You seem to know, so spill." Jojo stared at Polnareff, waiting for an answer.
"Fine, when I saw those arrows, I had some sort of vision. It was of a different me encountering the very same arrow you had just been holding and picking it up using Silver Chariot. The arrow merged with my stand, causing destruction everywhere and me losing control over it. That arrow's power cannot be used unless you want absolute chaos." Polnareff tried to go through the door, but Jotaro blocked him.
"What's this power called? If we can figure out something, maybe we can bea-" Jotaro got cut off by Polnareff again.
"No, we cannot beat it. Just trust me. It is called REQUIEM, and changes your stand to be far too powerful"
"Hey, guys, what happened to me?" Matthew spoke from Yami, and after focusing their eyes on it, the Stand Squad (name subject to change) was able to barely see Matthew inside of the new stand creation. It was a darkness humanoid with a bright glowing star in the middle. It seemed like Matthew was encased in the darkness, almost as if it was a suit of darkness. When Matthew moved, so did the darkness, bending around his body.
"Y-You're in control of your stand?" Polnareff stared in disbelief.
"No, not entirely I don't think. It feels like the stand is merging with my body, I can control my body, but I'm not sure if I can control its power." Matthew walked over to the stand users, but anywhere Matthew went, lights got dimmer and fires got smaller.
"Alright, so you got a power up from that REQUIEM arrow, maybe that's what that guy Jotaro was talking about was searching for." Joel suggested.
"Good grief, now we'll take this fight to DIO, but the fight won't be easy. Some of us will die, and we might not even win, but we have a chance. Let's start looking fo DIO, and beat anything in our way!" Jotaro ORA punched open the wooden door dividing the world from their base. "Win or lose, we don't come back here. We go our separate ways searching for DIO, and we meet up again two days from now at the nearby 7/11." Jojo and Matthew went West, Brianna and Joel went North, and Jotaro and Polnareff would cover East and South.
Will they succeed in taking down DIO, or will they suffer a fate worse than death? Are there greater threats near DIO's hideout? Some will die, but the question is, who? Find out in the next few parts!
