Capítulo 63: Chapter 63 - Hungry and Vindictive

Sols actions surprised me. In the years we have been together both openly and privately she never seemed like the type to do this. In that moment she no longer appeared like the naive girl I fell in love with, she seemed like all the other girls in my social circle.

The hungry and vindictive type. Those who wanted more. I tried to wrap my head around why. Why would she poke her head into affairs far beyond her reach. Especially with Celeste. The night we broke up, I fully expected her to be passive as she normally is.

Or to just not even care about me. One of the reasons aside from her obvious lacking physical features, was that she never could open up to me. I wanted to know her everything, her thoughts, her inner world which I was locked out of, I wanted full access.

But she would not give in. No matter what wall I thought I tore down another took its place. So I grew bored. The prize I so coveted in all actuality was lame. I was willing to go through the marriage for the sake of getting her families power and money but then Sol came in.

A young freshman in college. So open with her feelings and ever so radiant. I felt her heat and craved to bask in her rays. She was so innocent and beautiful in a way that Celeste could not compete. I grew infatuated and obsessed over her. I knew it was wrong but I could not stop. She was addictive.

I tried to do anything to see if maybe it was a sexual frustration. Since at that time Celeste and I had both been celibate during our relationship. So with some convincing, Celeste and I had slept together. But it only made it worse. She was not very experienced and we could not connect. It felt like a chore. No matter how many times we tried I felt nothing for her.

So I took a leap of faith. I fell into my temptations and began seeing Sol. Those few months were pure heaven. However when I finally got the courage to break up with Celeste, it did not go as well as I imagined. She was fully done with me and her threat rang clear in my head.

To never mention her or our relationship to anyone. Sol did not tell me who told her about the incident and I had to bet Celeste also was in the dark. If I were her my only logical conclusion would be that I told her.

Lunch with Sol was tense and awkward. After her confession I left right away to Celestes office to talk with her. Between Celeste and Dean, Celeste was the easiest to handle. Unlike Dean who would certainly beat me to a pulp before I could talk to him, Celeste at least was more reserved in her public appearance. I also hoped the history between us would keep any emotions she can muster at bay.

However when I arrived I was told she was on vacation for two weeks. As to her location, no one had a clear answer. 'Shit since when does Celeste go on vacation?' I drove around the parking garage but her driver was no where in the lot.

So more than likely she either left or was telling the truth. I sat in my car and debated my next move. "I could drive to her house but if her Dad is there I am sure he will shoot me. I could try seeing if her friends will give me her current contact information, but damn they don't exactly like me either. Also, I don't want to give the impression that I want to get back with her."

I weighed out my option but nothing seem to fit. Before I could debate with myself more, I got a call from my mom. "Hey mom, how is it going?" I sighed and pinched my nose bridge. Ever since she was embarrassed at the gala she has been locked up in her room. I have been told that Celeste did not give her face and she was angry at me for it.

'Looks like she is now in a better mood.' "Honey I was just calling to see if you had any plans." I leaned my head against the headrest and closed my eyes. She gets out of her tantrum and is back to scheming. "As of right now nothing yet. Why what is going on?"

I heard some sales woman in the background offer my mom some champagne while she waited for whatever she was buying to be brought out. "Come pick me up."

Before I could deny her she hung up. I sighed and pulled my tie loose from my neck. 'Well at least she didn't yell at me.' She sent me her location and when I pulled up I saw her holding back Celeste from leaving.

"Well I'll be damned." I hurriedly parked my car to rush over and see if I can talk to Celeste.

"I really have to get going my guest is waiting for me." I heard her voice call out as my mom blocked her and tugged at her arm. As soon as I came into view my mom let Celeste go and shoved me in her direction.

"Finally, I will wait in the car." She grabbed my keys and rushed to the car with her bags in tow.

The mood was instantly cold despite the gentle small smile Celeste always wore still being intact. "Ahh sorry about that I genuinely did not know that she was with you." I brushed my hands into my hair and rubbed the back of my neck. 'Since when has it been awkward to talk to her.'

Celeste simply stared back. I cleared my throat. "Can I talk to you for a second. Its about what Sol did." Rarely ever have I felt anxiety like this. She was more cold to me than before, and I was not too sure how to feel about it.
