"Are you sure you come here a lot?" He asks after they finished a round of boxing games, from which he came out victorious.
"You're so bad at everything," he chuckles, causing her to pout even more.
There was a genuine way to explain this. It wasn't that she was so bad at everything, it was just that he was so good at everything.
"I'm not bad at these games, my name is among the list of best players... See," She points at the scoreboard, and next to it was a board of the best players with the highest score from one to fifty.
On the board, you could find hers and Roxy's names, Princess Erina and Almighty Roxy. Those were their gaming names. She was always second on the list, while Roxy maintained the top best player for boxing.
Whenever they visited the arcade and found out their positions had been stolen, they'd make sure to play till their names went back to first and second.
So they were always the top bests... She had never lost to anyone but Roxy.
But today, Emperor Supreme was the name at the top of the list. It was the name Reuel had imputed before he started playing, and she had laughed at it, but by the end of the game, she wasn't even smiling.
Roxy would fight to the death when she sees his name above hers.
"What else do you want to do?" He sincerely asks as he readjusted his sleeves which he had rolled up to his elbows.
Erina rolls her eyes tiredly. This wasn't at all how she pictured it. This was totally not what she wanted. Instead of seeming bright and brilliant, she felt dumb and stupid next to him. He was good at everything!!
"I don't even know," she mutters, as she thoughtlessly walks with her head down, and he follows behind her.
With a stretch of his hands, he abruptly pulls her by the collar of her shirt, gently dragging her backward and saving her from bumping her head into a basketball hoop.
He bends lower to her level, his lips playing close to her right ear "If you want to play this game, just say so. Don't slam your head on it." He whispers, and she looks up and shakes a big no.
"It's basketball, you'd probably beat me in this one too." She murmurs, and he chuckles.
``what would I do with you?`` he thought to himself.
"I don't really like basketball, so I'm not good at it." He lies, but it was worth it! She instantly turns, and the pouting face had completely vanished, her white teeth were out for him to see, and the glitter in her eyes could not be missed. ``Damn, she's a galaxy of emotions.`` He laughed.
" I can teach you, I'm really good at it." She beat her chest repeatedly, telling him she would be his guide through and through.
So he agrees, and now finally, she could act like the female lead of a movie and teach the male lead something he didn't know!!
Just like that, she showed him how good she was at basketball, and he behaved like a novice, quietly learning from the master, also taking some moments to study her every expression.
Next, they moved to the shooting arena. And they played some Zombie shooting games. His score was way ahead of hers, so, at some point, he started killing fewer Zombies, and when her score was close to his, he picked up the pace again.
By the end of the game, his score was just some points above hers so she didn't mind, she found it fair, so she was happy about that one.
And they moved on to the next game. She was paying for everything, and when he had sincerely asked how in the world she was paying for all these because they had played more than fifteen rounds of just car racing, not to mention the other games.
She had told him not to worry because she was a regular customer, she had earned lots of Free passes and coupons, and that today was her time to use them all, even though Roxy might kill her later.
"Next!" She pulled him again. Dragging him into the virtual reality section.
With both their headsets on, the game landed them both in a jungle. The mission was to successfully go through the jungle, and retrieve the golden spear from the treasury of the demon king.
It was fun real fun, there was screaming and shouting and jumping and kicking as she was carefully maneuvering her way through the jungle with him as her partner.
Now they were partners, and not playing against each other, and there were more than enough human-sized flying bats, lion-sized ants, and beasts of weirdly different kinds.
She finally had the chance to show off her skills as she brilliantly used her bow and arrow like a true warrior. She was a really skilled beast slayer.
As her partner, he would save her from some dangers, and sometimes she'd save him.
Other times, he'd get killed in her stead, only to respawn and find her battling an even bigger beast.
It was crazy, and interesting, playing for her, dying for her, and even living for her.
It was all a game, nothing more... But there would come a time when like this game, he would realize he would give more than his life for her.
