The day of the Kings arrival came very swiftly, Jon Snow was sent to stay with Benjen so as not to have any mishap. Cyrus wasn't happy feeling nothing was wrong with Jon being there but they just said it was only until the king left.
As the percussion of royal guards made their way thru Wintertown to head into Winterfell Caitlyn began looking down the line of her family standing waiting for the king. Noticing Arya wasn't in line she began to question everyone.
"Knowing her she's probably watching them enter the town, I'm she will show up soon." Cyrus said while rolling his eyes at his mother getting anxious.
Soon after Arya came running with a soldier's helmet on her head. Seeing her Cyrus and Robb started to chuckle as Ned stopped her and took off the helmet and handed it back to Rodrik.
"Now go, they are almost here." Ned directed her to take her place.
As Arya was getting into place the Commander of the Kingsguard Ser Barristan Selmy, or Barristan the Bold thought to be the best swordsman alive since the death of Ser Arthur Dayne. Following behind him was Prince Joffrey then the Hound, Sandor Clegane in his dog shaped helm.
Then the red royal carriage with King Robert finally entered, upon his entry all of Winterfell knelt on the ground.
King Robert waited till a squire brought a step so he could get off his horse, Robert struggled a bit to get down. He has gotten much fatter since the Greyjoy Rebellion.
King Robert quickly made his way in front of Ned stopping only a few feet in front of him. Not saying anything he motions for him to stand.
Once Ned sees this he stands, thus giving all the rest of Winterfell the ability to now stand as well.
"Your Grace." Ned says with a small bow.
Robert just stared at him eyeing him up and down, Ned doing the same to Robert taking a bit to really see just how much his friend had changed.
"You got fat." King Robert finally broke his silence.
Ned looked at Robert strangely unsure of how to answer.
"Yea some more than others." Cyrus spoke softly. Robb trying his best not to laugh, his face turning red.
Caitlyn elbowed Cyrus giving him a look while also trying her best not to but did a much better job than Robb.
King Robert just started laughing which Ned was thankful for cause he too was trying not to laugh. Giving each other a big hug as they laugh.
Releasing Ned he moved to greet Caitlyn.
"Cat." Robert gives her a hug. "Your Grace."
After hugging her and ruffling Rickons head he moved back in front of Ned.
"Nine years... why haven't I seen you? Where you been?"
"Guarding the North for you, your Grace. Winterfell is yours." Ned responded
Just then the Queen exited the Royal Carriage and looked around the courtyard with her head up high.
As Robert greeted each Stark child, the queen made her way to the Lord and Lady of Winterfell.
After she greeted the Lord and Lady Stark, Robert quickly pulled at Ned.
"Now take me to the crypt, I want to see her." Robert demanded.
"We have been riding for a month my love, the dead can wait." Cercei said with annoyance.
But Robert ignored her and stared hard at Ned, not taking no for and answer.
So Ned took him to see his sister Lyanna in the crypts.
Cyrus seeing all this could help but roll his eyes, but then he felt some eyes on him. Looking at the source he saw the prince and his hound staring at him.
Bringing up both hands he touched two fingers together shaking his head no then used the fingers to make an x then walked away. Both the prince and the hounds faces changed, Joffreys face began to redden a little from anger.
Robb seeing his reaction quickly left before he burst out laughing, when he caught up to his brother he told him,
"He's so going get back at you, I think you made him mad."
"Yeah, rejection will do that too you. Damn, its hard being sexy." Cyrus just waved him off moving to head out to the woods.
He didn't like that look he was getting from those two he knew they were looking for trouble first, but he wasn't aboit to play by their rules.
"Of course they were stareing you are famous 'War Wolf' Ha Ha Ha" Robb continued to poke at him.
"Ugh, don't remind me, its not like they were big battles. They weren't even wars they were scuffles, and you can't count the Greyjoy thing cause I was there for 20 seconds literally." Cyrus countered matter of factly.
"Yea you literally ended the rebellion in 20 sec." Robb countered.
"For the last time, it was the builders fault not mine. Now shut it, I got enough problems and don't need you running that mouth and adding more. If you are bored follow, you can help me design a trap so we can get father the evidence he needs." Cyrus quickly replied not wanting people to know his dark history.
After being forced to wear that damn pirate outfit for a week and had to deal with the giggles and cheek pinching he literally threw every one of those fish out while saying the North Remembers.
As they left Joffrey was planning his revenge against Cyrus. All he was doing was seeing what all the fuss was about a kid not much older than him supposed to be the best warrior of the North. Then seeing Cyrus actions at first confounded him, but after just a little more thought he figured out the meaning.
It pissed him off. He was like that, didn't he see him checking out his sister? Then when he looked at Sandor Clegane, he thought maybe he was directing it to him instead. He was behind him after all.
Just to be sure Joffrey moved to the side so that the hound was no longer behind him.
"Hound, I want you to challenge that boy to a spar. I want you to hurt him, possibly to where he won't be able to fight again." Joffrey commanded.
"That kid, sure. I wouldn't mind teaching the boy a lesson he won't forget." Sandor responded flatly not really liking receiving orders from the brat but this one he would enjoy
Accuse him of harboring those kinds of attention, that just pissed him off. All he did was look at the boy to see what all the fuss was.
He was supposedly some sorcerer warrior or something from the stories, he didn't look like much. Sure he was a good looking kid but not in a feminine way, Sandor felt his dignity was attacked. So he doesn't mind getting a little revenge and getting paid to do it.
Jaime and Barristan too were looking at the famed 'War Wolf' but they were able to hide their gazes much better and with Joffrey and Clegane drawing attention it did make it easier to remain undetected.
"Do you think the rumors are true" Jaime asks his commander and teacher.
"Cant tell just by looking, he definitely carries himself with confidence. He definitely has some guts, angering the prince as he did. I'm sure he'll have the Hound test those rumors now." Barristan replied with a shrug.
"Magic or no magic, doesn't make a difference when the sword is stabbed in your gut. I for one think it's talk. I'm sure he's skilled but that's just here in the north." Jaime confidently replied back.
"Now to go find my brother, he's probably doing what he's been doing the whole trip here." Jaime continued with a sigh.
"What drowning himself in wine and women?" Barristan responded with a scowl.
"Actually since we have been in the North he has been doing nothing but ask about Leeroy Jenkins, the pirate dwarf of the north who ended a battle himself. I swear these northerners can spin a tale." Jaime responded incredulously.
"It was never confirmed he was from the north, none of the northerners knew of him or heard of him since. And it isn't just a story, I was there with Robert remember?" Barristan replied while also remembering the sight of that dwarf reeking havoc on the Greyjoy troops.
"Yea sure, I still think you all are just in on it as a pun on Tyrion. I mean it was a little funny seeing Tyrion dress like a pirate yelling 'Leeroy Jenkins' at the training doll while smacking it with a sword, but come on you guys are going to get my brother killed making him think there are strong dwarfs out there." Jaime asked with a hint of worry.
He didn't go out of his way like his sister to make Tyrion's life harder. He didn't blame him for his mother's death like his sister and father. Sure he had lied to Tyrion about his first wife telling him she was a whore they paid so he could become a man and did nothing while their fathers men raped Tyrion's wife in front of Tyrion.
He was ordered to by his father, he didn't have a choice.
She wasn't a whore, she was just a commoner who did fall in love. She wasn't after money or riches.
When Tywin found out he was furious, he wouldn't allow some commoner girl to get access to Lannister gold, especially since she had no value to the family. So Tywin had ordered everything then annulled the marriage.
Since that day he has tried to be nicer to him, being more of a brother as best as he could.
Jaime then headed out to find his brother Tyrion hoping to put an end to his farce of a search.
