Capítulo 22: Chapter 14 ─ Castle of Darkness

"I must stop opening my big mouth!"

"They're coming!"

After declaring that I would undoubtedly succeed in obtaining the caster's blood, I entered the castle.

Getting in was simple and up to the second floor, from the third floor onwards was where it all got complicated.

A wave of hideous and deformed monsters similar to dogs attacked me.

I used the magic sword that Luvia gave me, the sword had the ability to create elemental magic attacks depending on what voice command I say.

It was very useful, but it partly used my life energy so I had to rest every so often to avoid falling unconscious.

The multi-eyed, dog-like monsters approached me and I quickly cut one in two.

Then I cut another one's throat and the remaining ones I attacked with a lightning power coming from a magic circle on the ceiling.

I couldn't relax, more of them were coming.

"This way."

I wasn't alone, Luvia sent a familiar of hers to keep me company, a bat.

Familiars are animals that act as the ears, eyes and voice of the caster.

Thanks to this bat, Luvia can use her radar and thus detect any faint sign of magical power.

I must say it with shame.

They are very dangerous, these monsters.

One of them grazed my arm with its teeth and I could feel how the skin was torn.

The monsters apparently guard this place for some reason.

They are even resistant to magical attacks, physical attacks hardly hurt them.

I don't know who created them, but I can't handle them.

I hate this.

More and more I find very powerful enemies to defeat.

At this rate, my mission to be a Sword God in this world will be destroyed by these simpleton enemies that can kill me.

It was true what Russell said, the world is a huge place.

There are many strong enemies out there.

"Have you rested enough?"

Luvia asked through the bat.

"Y-Yes."

"Let's continue looking for the caster."

"Relax a bit, we made it to the tenth floor of the castle. There are no monsters here it seems, the lower floors have them, which means..."

"The conjugator is here, isn't he?"

"Probably. But we mustn't get overconfident. I'll be on the lookout too."

I sighed in annoyance.

"I really want to go home now."

I looked out the window in the distance, the sun was slowly setting.

"I can't believe it took five hours to climb up here."

"The monsters were too strong. I never went inside so I'm sorry I didn't know about them."

"That's okay. You were helpful in identifying where they were."

"..."

I walked carefully checking every room in the place.

Many doors were locked, I forced them to enter and in some of them there were dead bodies and in others just the door was stuck.

But the curious thing about the corpses was that they were not in the bones.

According to Luvia, they seem to be still in putrefaction.

I don't understand what that means.

But she says it's really weird this.

"Hey, do you mind if I ask you something?"

Luvia called out to me while forcing another door, I answered.

"No problem, but what is it?"

"Why do you want to go home so badly?"

She said in a curious tone. As if she had never had a home.

"Do you really want to know that?"

"Yes. Very much so."

"Well... what I've experienced."

"It's homey. I like being around them... and barely talking to Russell."

"But I definitely like talking to both Mary and Shannon. Ah, Mary's my girlfriend and Shannon's her mother."

"Who is also my woman."

"I see... Huh?"

"Huh?!"

"You have a relationship with your girlfriend's mother!"

"We've barely kissed, so it's a slow progress."

"No, no, no!"

"Are you saying you call kissing your girlfriend's mother a slow advance?!"

"Are you an incubus?"

"No..."

Through the bat I could imagine the confused face Luvia must be making right now.

"Guh... you're definitely a monster."

"What's worse is that I heard how that dark elf you brought along you'd turn her into your woman too."

"I must get away from you before you add me to your collection too."

"Umm, you're cute so depending on the situation I would accept you."

"In your dreams!"

After saying my honest opinion, we continued looking for the conjugator, I finished the tenth floor before I knew it.

We were climbing the stairs to the eleventh floor, the sun was getting lower and lower to set.

Luvia spoke to me again.

"Hey, how badly do you want to see them again?"

"They are important to me. Their safety is vital."

"I see. I would have liked it to have been at least that way for me too."

"What are you talking about?"

"Well... let me tell you a story from a long time ago."

❤❤❤

I still remember it like it was yesterday.

I would wake up looking at the painting in my room.

The place was gray, but I painted the ceiling a beautiful blue sky with some clouds.

It was weird to see a painting depicting the sun while you sleep, but it was my only fun I had.

I was born in this place called the Great Avrora Empire. A huge nation located in the south of the continent.

Ever since I was a little girl, I have performed the same routine since forever.

I would get up, have breakfast, chat with some girls and then when a bell rang we would go to a special room where a nice old man with a long beard would teach us about magic.

He said that magic is the vital essence of things.

And we are special, we are druids, human beings whose population is always women.

According to the information I was given when my consciousness was more developed, my father was an important noble of the empire and my mother was a soldier.

They fell in love and I was born, but both lost their lives in combat.

We are at war against some nations, for that reason we are partly hunted.

The professor always said this "You are very powerful, but that makes you very vulnerable because you get tired quickly. For that reason, as citizens of our nation we support you to grow up and become great druids to end this war and live a peaceful life".

Those were his exact words.

We received history lessons as well.

The teacher was telling that we were called witches by other countries, as we possessed something that others did not possess, the reason for being druids is not because our magical power related to the elements of nature was superior to others, it was because of our eyes.

[Magic Eyes] they were called.

These eyes have four special colors and they are: blue color to increase your defensive power and healing; golden color to perform incantations to increase your abilities in combat, those of your allies, green color to cast spells to cause paralysis among other effects that lower the morale of the enemies and mainly the rarest of all.

The red color to channel powerful magical attacks which can destroy cities.

For us, rather, my kind, there was not a single girl who possessed eyes of any color other than blue.

My eyes can turn blue when I concentrate.

I feel dizzy after using them, but that's normal I was told.

Each day was spent reading, learning and playing with my friends.

The place where we lived was a big castle which was inside the forest to protect us.

Yes, it was paradise.

... Until I had to see "it" that night.

❤❤❤

The night came earlier than expected.

I was in charge of cleaning the lab where we practiced fire magic.

"Guh. For messing around I have more work to do... luckily tomorrow is a day off, so I can take more time than expected."

After cheering myself up. I set about sweeping and cleaning the whole place.

It was past not only curfew, it was past midnight.

If anyone were to see me around, I would be reprimanded in such a way that I wouldn't see sunlight again for months.

How would I avoid this?

Simple.

Thanks to the darkness magic I can do, I managed to develop a spell that deflects the light that touches me and erases my presence.

I'll call it... invisibility magic.

It can't hide sounds, so I used a wind spell to erase my sounds.

It sounds counterintuitive, but I managed to do it.

As I finished cleaning up, I was sneaking through the halls to head to my room.

At that...

"Huh? Instructor and... Darcy-chan?"

The instructor and one of my childhood playmates, Darcy, were heading out of the building.

I had to go back to my room, I knew, but... the suspicious way they were acting made me want to follow them.

That's partly because Darcy is someone who likes older men, if she and the instructor were in that time of relationship... I could tease her forever.

My innocent response was ignorant enough for what I was about to see.

After following them into the building I continue which they tell us not to approach because they keep dangerous tools there.

They shut the door in my face, I had to wait until someone came out so I could get in, it's the kind of door that opens from the inside since for security reasons there is no knob on the outside.

How did someone get in then?

I have no idea, but someone came out, just as I was going in.

"It was a failure."

I heard something strange.

"I was hoping this time the test subject would be worth it. It really sucks that it didn't turn out the way we wanted it to."

"It doesn't matter. There are more test subjects, Your Majesty for a reason 'buys' them from the original source."

I didn't understand what they meant, but upon entering, it was very creepy in there.

There were strange tools that were used for cultivation and others that were strange, one of them looked like a wooden horse with a sharp wire on top of it.

Even something similar to a spiked steel coffin.

What is this place?

I was starting to get scared.

I went deeper because I came in here for something.

Once I checked it out, I would get out of here.

From this place of nightmares.

It's a government facility, it must be a warehouse where they keep strange items for war.

I thought innocently.

"Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!"

"Please, noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!"

Suddenly, a shiver ran down my spine.

I heard a scream.

A person screaming as if they were being hurt.

To make it that much scarier, it was my friend's voice.

I didn't want to think anything scary.

I was staying positive.

I didn't want to believe what I imagined.

But... at one of the doors near the corridor, I peeked out to see something that to this day took my breath away.

"Please, I beg you, no more!"

My reason for hating humans.

"Silence. Bitch, a non-human like you shouldn't even be complaining."

Some knights I knew, who were smiling at me, even the cook... were abusing my friend as a group.

I watched as they held each other so that each of them inserted his member and when their expressions showed how good they felt.

"Ohhhh! Virgins are the best!"

"Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!"

The look on the man's face when he released his seed in my friend as he enjoyed it, and she cried with that pained expression.

It just made me want to throw up and run away.

But it wasn't the only thing.

"Umm, looks like it won't be good this time either."

I heard in an opposite room the instructor's voice and walked over to see what it was.

There, I watched as a woman that I didn't know, was savagely raped by a creature I only saw in books, an orc.

"Interspecies breeding for the reproductive plan is going badly."

"We thought that if dryads could mate with monsters, this would only increase the gestation stage and thus make them increase their numbers."

"It's a failure again."

"To make it worse professor, the females die because the monsters are too rough with them, or their penises are bigger than their vaginas."

"That's another annoying factor. But what can be done."

"Once they die, proceed to the next thing."

This place was hell itself, but what the instructor, who was a nice person, said totally tore me apart.

"As is the usual, we will take out their magic eyes to turn them into sources of power. It's great that there is a race that can be exploited without any problem."

"Professor, among all the researchers. You are the cruelest, I still can't believe what you did to Luvia's mother."

"...!"

"I didn't do anything to her. I just gave her a drug to see if she can develop the ovulation stage faster."

"I'd say it's a miracle that Luvia was born after her mother forcibly ingested all those deficient magic stones."

"Oh, speaking of which, don't you think it's about time to bring her in?"

"...!"

"Are you sure?"

"She's still very useful. She's even a very nice girl, surely some nobleman wants to betroth her."

"Don't talk to me about those idiots. I still can't believe how one of them asked to eat one of them to expand their special menu. If it weren't for the fact that they are a valuable commodity we kidnapped from their native home. They would be endangered."

"Rooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!"

With that scream, the orc released its seed into the woman with such force, it ends up choking her.

I couldn't take it anymore, I couldn't hold it much longer.

I ended up vomiting on the floor.

I didn't need anyone to tell me.

The invisibility spell and the undo noise spell vanished.

I was visible to everyone.

But my hands were shaking, my eyes were bugging out.

My legs were unresponsive.

I wanted to do something.

I wanted to kill them.

I wanted to free the other girls.

But...

"Hey. What are you doing here?"

I just wanted to run away.

A guard passing by saw me.

He used his whistle and at that moment, I used fire magic of great power to blow the place up.

I don't know what happened to the others.

I ran away.

I left my friends, with whom I shared much of my life until that moment.

Like a dirty crawling rat, I left them alone as I escaped into the forest.

I didn't look back.

I don't know if they were chasing me.

Surely if they did seeing the current situation in which I find myself.

But... I have no regrets.

I am alive thanks to the fruits of this tree that gives longevity.

That's right... alive, because I am a coward.

Luvia told me her story.

It's the same kind of story that for some reason, I feel like I know.

I don't know what it is, but as I wiped the tears from my falling cheek, I could feel her pain as if I had experienced this.

"And that's it... That's the story of how a coward like me survived after abandoning others."

"I shouldn't even think of living. But, I'm such a coward that I don't want to die."

"I'm sorry for telling you. Maybe I wanted to talk to someone so I wouldn't look like I was alone in this place anymore."

"You weren't wrong."

I said as I stood up.

"Huh?"

"I said you weren't wrong."

"What else could you do there?"

"Fight them?"

"You don't even know if they had any strong guys or several over there."

"It was a miracle you made it out alive."

"But..."

"No buts!"

I shouted to Luvia who, despite not seeing her, could hear the faint sounds of her voice through the familiar.

"To live is right. You must live."

"You want to die for abandoning them?"

"That's ridiculous!"

"It's painful to know that they died for sure. But that's why you must take revenge."

"You must destroy that place, mercilessly murder those bastards and then raze everything to the ground."

"Only then will your friends be able to live in peace."

"If you want, I'll help you."

"...!"

"The Avrora Empire is my enemy now. Well, now there are three enemies I have."

"To eliminate them, I'll need help."

"That's why, Luvia. Lend me your power."

"Once we settle this, we'll end your pain so you can stop grieving so much for them."

There was a long silence as I walked around the place looking for my target.

"You're a rare human, no, a very rare man."

"Hehehe. This is the first time in a long time I've felt good about myself."

"Well, thanks to Mary I already know how to converse better with women─"

"Roah!"

A sound I knew shouted from behind me, it was the monsters similar to the dogs from before.

They managed to climb up.

I quickly ran around the place.

"Luvia! Where is it?"

"I'm on it... the magic power feels bigger from the left."

"Good!"

I turned to the direction where she told me.

More monsters were coming and because of their bodies they made a stopper to avoid touching me.

But the stopper didn't last long as the monsters jumped up to chase me.

"To the right!"

One of them jumped towards me, but because I turned a corner, it crashed into the wall.

"Down the hall!"

The monsters were increasing in number, almost biting my feet.

"There!"

A huge door was at the end of a red carpet.

I threw my sword to gain more speed and grabbed the bat and threw it at the door.

If it was locked, or there was a trap, it would be very bad.

Luvia understood, she would be angry for sure, but she would forgive me.

There was nothing wrong with the door so I quickly turned the knob and went inside to close it.

The monsters wanted to get in, I found some chairs around and placed them together to block the entrance.

"How long will it last?"

"I don't know. They're pretty wild. It's probably only minutes."

(Help me.)

(Somebody. Help me.)

Once again, I heard the voice I had heard the first time I approached the forest.

But that wasn't the only thing, a huge blue glow was behind it.

As I turned around, I was dazzled by a huge ice crystal that covered much of the place.

And in the center...

"I-It can't be..."

A woman lay there with a sword stuck in her chest.

_______________

Now on to today's fanservice.

The "witch" Luvia who I hope has stolen everyone's heart since she has a certain similarity to a certain character from a certain novel of mine, guess who it is?

In the next chapter, we will finally meet one of the author's most wanted characters as who will reel part of the plot as a spoiler.

REFLEXIONES DE LOS CREADORES
Siegburn Siegburn

How are you my dear readers!

I'm sorry to have disappeared, but I'll be brief.

Last week, almost returning home I was assaulted, the scoundrel put the gun to my head, I didn't had nothing, only pennies, and wanted me to give him my cell phone (which I didn't have) I told him I didn't have anything but he insisted until he hit me with the back of his gun and then near me he threatened me shooting to the side (yes, he was tattooed and spoke as if he didn't even know how to pronounce vowels, then they call me classist for pointing), At that moment a patrol car arrived and the guy took my suitcase and I went back home confused.

The next day I could feel my head buzzing and even felt like "someone" was groping my skull, I went to the doctor and he told me that I went through a traumatic moment and left me with anxiety (explaining why my hands were shaking so much).

He told me to take a few days off from any activity and my parents wanted to take advantage of it to go to the beach and we just got back yesterday.

Sorry for the delay, but thanks to "that" I was able to feel relaxed. And even refreshed, since I could think about the development of my works and how much they mean to me.

You may not understand, but every work I write is a part of me that I manifest in words and give you. It's almost like feeling like a hippie, but I really feel happy and I wouldn't want to stop writing for anything in the world.

So dying is not in my language until the day I am blind, unable to move and my last breath is taken.

Now that I got that out of my system, let's get on with the chapter.

It's going to be a little strong, but remember, it's for the sake of the plot.
