"A man and his wife ought to take care of each other. They are in the relationship together. One of the main purpose of marriage is to have someone you can share your low and most vulnerable moments with without feeling ashamed. Someone that accepts your craziness, scolds you when you are wrong and drag you right back to console you. Don't you ever settle for a man that treats you less Faith." He told the young girl who nodded in agreement. "Now, you need to go back to school. But that is entirely up to you." He added.
"But my father won't hear of it." She said sadly.
"Your father have lived his life. This particular life you are living right now, is your own life and you shouldn't let someone else live it for you after living theirs. So, going back to School to acquire formal education is all up to you." He told her once more. Faith stared at her fingers as she tried to digest everything he said. "Do you want to go to school?" Simon asked her.
She hesitated a bit. Took extra seconds to think of her answer to the question. "Yes," she replied. "I would love to go to school."
"Great." Simon said with a warm smile. "He walked over to his bedroom where his belongings were kept and in a second came back with his business card. "Here is my card, call any of those numbers when you are ready for school. I would personally see that you can quality education. But that would be with your parent's consent. So, I expect you to speak to them and convince them. You will need their permission to do it. Once you've gained their consent, then we can proceed to enroll you in a good school." He said with a warm smile.
Faith fell on the floor immediately touching his feet and soft foam slippers. "Thank you so much Sir." She said incoherently as a result of excitement.
"Please stand up." He chided her as he pulled her up. "Do not do that again. Saying thank you verbally is enough already. You do not need to fall on the floor. Now go ahead. Keep the card well too."
Faith stood up still extremely excited. She bowed slightly thanking him once more before bouncing excitedly out of the room causing Simon to smile as well. She ran through the whole building in search of Timothy and when she couldn't find him, she checked outside the main building. At this time, everywhere was well tidied up and the villagers that came to help earlier were already leaving for the various homes. She asked few people about Timothy and none of them seem to know where he was. So, she went in search of him at his quarters behind the main building.
She met him on call in a hushed tone. Once Timothy turned and saw her, he signaled that she should keep quiet while he continued the call. "Everything is good, he doesn't suspect a thing." Timothy whispered into the phone. "We can still go ahead with the plan, I will handle my end." He said smiling at Faith although the smile didn't affect the tone of his voice. "Okay," he said after listening to the the caller. "Let's talk later then." He said before hanging up. "Hey baby." Timothy called Faith with a warm smile.
"Are we still doing this." She asked making an unpleasant face.
"Of course, we've never stopped doing it. This has been the plan all along. You focus on your own path, while I do mine and they will do theirs. Easy breezy." He told her.
"They, who are they? Really?" Faith asked.
"They are the people that will make us millionaires." Timothy replied excitedly.
"I want to go to school Timothy. "Faith said gently slipping the business card Simon gave her into her underwear to prevent Tim from seeing it.Your Boss is a nice person. He offered to train me in school." She continued taking a seat.
This revelation hit Tim like a huge rock. "He did what?" Timothy asked moving closer to her.
"You heard me already." She said in reply.
"And what did you say?" Tim allowed impatiently.
"I told him I'll discuss it with my family and he asked that I get back to him when I'm done."
"And how do you plan on getting back to him?" He asked again this time around, he wanted to know if she has Simon's contact to call him back with.
"That will be through you of course Dummy. How else am I suppose to reach out to him?"
Her reply made him a bit relaxed. He already knows that there is obviously no way he would reach out to his Boss on her behalf. The best thing to do was to act neutral since he suddenly doesn't know what is on her mind.
"Okay," Felix started. "But I already planned on sending you back to school once we make this money. Don't forget you will be paid a very huge sum out of the money." He smiled. "You can always go to the biggest schools in the world if you wish to. Money is all you need remember." He said.
"I know," she said slowly. "But all I'm saying is your Boss is a nice man. He doesn't look bad as you paint him. Even the villagers can attest to it. I still don't understand why we have to do this." She played with her fingers and a downcast face.
"We need this for the money Faith, your sister need her surgery remember. You actually need the money more than me." He reminded her. "If my boss is offering to see you through in school, then he is obviously planning on taking advantage of you sexually. He isn't the type that will offer you something without anything in return. He is like that. Most rich guys are like that as well." He added trying to convince her.
Faith stared at him not believing a word of what he said. She knew someone that Simon helped in the village to secure a well paid job and she told them that Simon was a nice person and he obviously doesn't even know most of the people he's helped personally as they were a lot. Faith might be young but she was not dumb. She knew when syringe m someone like Timothy was lying and making up stories just to suit his narrative. If she could open up to Simon about her sister, maybe he can help her but the problem is that she lied to him already and she doesn't know how he was going to react if he finds out he was lied to.
"Okay." She finally said after several thoughts and contemplation. "I'm fully in like I've always been. I seriously need that money." She told him.
"Now that is what I'm talking about!" Tim exclaimed. "That money is going to go a very long way with the surgery and even your studies. So, let's get back to business. You will continue with your part just like we planned. I will make the poison available. Just make sure that keep putting it in every single meal you prepare for him and in very small quantity, I'll get a measuring spoon for that." He said. "You can handle that can't you?"
"I can." Faith replied in a confident voice. "But the initial plan was that you'll make him come down by December. What changed.
"I have no idea yet." Tim replied. "Something brought him down here, I'm yet to find out what. But I'm definitely going to find out what it is. I just need a little time."Tim told her.
"Now, you have to go back to the house. I wouldn't want anyone waking in on us like this. Tomorrow, I'll make the substance available to you."
Faith nodded and left for the main house suddenly scared and indecisive of what to do exactly. She wanted to stop by at Simon's room to check if he was done eating but she was scared to go as she felt he might notice something was off about her so she left for the kitchen.
Back in the room, Simon sat down with Bruce standing beside the door.
"She came in this evening in the company of the younger Tedson brother. Wexton reported that they did just as you instructed while Nicon added that she was very pissed." He summarized.
"Is there anything else that is note worthy? How is everybody over there?"
"They are all fine boss." Bruce replied with a smile.
"Good." Simon said. "Now, the cook, the one that prepared my meal. Who is she?"
"I was told by Tim that she is the cook's daughter as the cook is under the weather.
"I hate working with people I know nothing about. I know the cook, but I can't remember anything about a daughter. Her files should be at Lakeview. I read it when she was employed. I seriously do not remember anything about a daughter nor a husband. I need Charles to check for the cook's files in my library. Explain my fears to him and if he suspect a thing, let him know that he should come down here first thing tomorrow morning. Notify the guards we came with about security consciousness. They should all be extremely conscious. Make sure you do this without raising any suspicion. Do not talk to anybody working here. Just the people we came with." He instructed.
Bruce who became suddenly serious on hearing everything his boss said nodded in agreement. He has worked with Simon for a very long time. If there was anything he was very conscious about, it will be his personal guards, cooks and butlers. "Yes Boss." Bruce replied moving to the door.
"You need to take care of yourself as well Bruce. Sleeping with a bullet proof vest today shouldn't be a bad idea." He chipped in while Bruce nodded with full understanding. He left the room to go carry out his Boss's instruction while Simon looked his door securely. He needed to sleep if he was doing to remain sane and the crazy feeling he was having cannot stop him one bit. As usual, he closed his eyes and attempted sleeping again. Seconds turned to minutes and within fifty six minutes of struggle, he finally fell asleep.
