Capítulo 27: Chapter Twenty Seven
"I lost my senses then, I know what I did was unreasonable" Ruby replied and her stomach made a funny sound which made Vina giggle.
"I'll get you something to eat, do you still like spicy jollof rice?" Vina asked.
"Of course it's still my best but I don't feel like eating right now" she replied and Vina rolled her eyes at her.
"Are you talking to me? eat or get spanked so choose one" she said
"Lovina." Ruby called but Vina interrupted her
"Shhhh' Vina replied, taking in her lips as she entered the small kitchen.
"By the way, how have you been living?" Ruby asked
"Magnet job of course, after I left the orphanage, no one was willing to give me a job and you know I'm not close to good at school, I dropped out at year two so madam Fiona (the orphanage owner) won't continue to waste her money" she replied.
"What about since we got here? ' Ruby asked
"Oh, I actually Magneted Albert Peak a night before the incident, so i used it for two weeks, then after that, I almost got caught in a store while stealing but Dr faith helped me.
She has really been of great help and she didn't take a dime in taking care of you" Vina replied but Ruby laughed lightly.
"Albert will roast you alive" Ruby said to her
"I know, I just have to apologise. He helped me but I ended up stealing from him" Vina said sadly
"Well he's single and I think he has stopped chasing after girls and he's trying hard to quit smoking too" Ruby said
"Meaning?"
"Hook up you know" Ruby said
"You're sick" Vina replied and immediately Dr Faith came In
"Oh, Our Ruby is awake" She said with a big smile
"Dr Faith? " Ruby guessed.
"Yeah" she replied
"My lifesaver" Ruby gushed, sitting up properly as Dr faith came more closer and hugged her.
"You're very kind, you took no cash for treating me, how can I even say thank you" Ruby said.
" Just be good and don't do anything to stress that baby inside you, then get ready to meet your fiancee tommorow hence you're awake now so we should go home tommorow" Dr Faith said and Ruby nodded positively.
"I miss my baby and I can't wait to see him" she said.
"And putting that animal called Madam Sylvia behind bars will be made snappy, she doesn't deserve to live amidst humans" Vina said coming out of the kitchen.
"Sure" Dr Faith replied
"Doctor Faith, you should stay for dinner hence the rice is almost done" Vina said
"Sure, but Ruby, you must promise me to eat well during dinner" Vina said
"Sure, you're old enough to be my mother" Ruby said
"Me too" Vina added
"Maybe, I'm turning fourthy at the end of this year" Dr Faith said
"Ain't you married? " Ruby asked
"My husband and only daughter died in a plane crash five years ago" she replied.
"I'm very sorry about that" Ruby and Vina said simultaneously
"It's ok, but can I adopt you both please?" Dr Faith said while
Vina and Ruby exchanged glances
"I bet you'll want to make us three because Janet is cool as well. You'll meet her tomorrow" Ruby said
"I don't mind, I really want daughters around me, I've always wanted daughters to call mine" Dr faith replied.
"Yes" Vina and Ruby screamed joyously.
"Ok, it should be done by now" Vina said and left for the kitchen and dished the food in three separate plates before setting it on the table.
"Maybe our Ruby will still be too weak to eat by herself" Dr Faith said.
"No, i can manage" Ruby replied
"No dear, open up" Dr Faith said, raising a spoon full of rice to her mouth then Ruby smiled and opened up as Dr Faith shoved the spoon gently into her mouth
"I'm jealous" Vina said and they all bursted out laughing
The Next day,
Richard was really sick and he has been in the hospital for days now without showing any sign of improvement.
Albert, Julius with Janet stood by him throughout but it wasn't even helping as all he kept saying was Ruby.
Madam Sylvia never bothered to come because he doesn't want to see her anyways so she sat in her big house, feeling lonely like hell.
Hilda hasn't called nor visited since Valerie died although she doesn't know why but she never called or visited too but her doorbell suddenly rang so she went to get it.
She opened the door and Hilda came in view with something wrapped with a white shawl in her hand and a determined smile on her face.
"Hilda, You surprised me, I thought we're at odds" Madam Sylvia said as Hilda came in fully.
"Well, I've called the cops and told them everything you did to Ruby, her parents and what you did to my daughter as well" Hilda said
"What?"
"They're coming for your arrest, but that'll be after I might have cut off your hands, the hand you used to poison my daughter's drink" she said, removing the sword from the shawl and Madam Sylvia's eyes widened
"What are you talking about?" Madam Sylvia said stammering as she drew back
"I know you killed Val because you're afraid Albert will force words out of her mouth so stop pretending! " Hilda yelled
"Hilda" Madam Sylvia called but was interrupted by Hilda's word
"If you're planning to plead, it's too late" Hilda said and raised the sword, and brought it down on Madam Sylvia's right arm cutting it off completely and she cried out in great agony as her blood pumped out uncontrollably.
She was about to cut off the second one when the cops rushed in so she dropped the sword voluntarily and fell in tears
"She killed my daughter, she killed her" Hilda cried and Madam Sylvia was still screaming in pains as her blood continued pumping.
They were both pushed into the police van and taken to the station after Madam Sylvia's bleeding arm has been bandaged in the hospital.
Getting off from the car at the bus stop, the first thing Ruby's eyes caught on the street TV was an ongoing news then her eyes widened when she saw Madam Sylvia being taken out of the police van with only an arm revealing the other arm has been removed as she was pushed into the station with another woman.
News: Chairlady of Peak Empire, Madam Sylvia Peak has been arrested in her house today after her right arm got cut by her closest friend Hilda Napoleon.
Hilda confessed that it was Madam Sylvia who killed the missing girlfriend of CEO Richard Peak by pushing her from the top of one thousand stairs in an uncompleted skyscraper and having Valerie as the only witness became a bother to Madam Sylvia so she killed Valerie by poisoning and dumped her body.
Reporters also Stated the real reason for Ruby Williams murder, Madam Sylvia killed Ruby's parents, Jael and Jerthro Williams thirteen years ago while going to dump the corpse of her mother whom she also killed by herself.
CEO Richard Peak was said to have been in the hospital since three days ago who is seriously lovesick and Madam Sylvia really a human?.
Ruby was already crying as Vina placed her hand on her shoulder and Dr Faith hugged her.
"You have a strong soul and spirit and you won the battle without lifting a finger" she said
"Dr Faith, I'm just..I'm grateful that I'm not dead, I'm grateful for being alive, what more can i ask for more" Ruby replied and
Dr Faith wiped her tears
"It's ok baby stop crying" she said.
"My sweetheart is sick, we should go to the family hospital first, I'm sure he'll be there" Ruby said and Vina stopped a cab and the drive to the hospital began.
"Finally,
I think I should be a prophet, I gave her a month and in just two weeks she lost an arm, and an hour from now, she'll bleed till death," Albert said, watching the news from the hospital TV.
"So she killed Ruby's parents as well?" Richard said
"She's the devil, I wonder where she was when the vote for devil was going on" Julius said and Richard cried more.
"Richard, can you at least stop crying because that's what you've been doing for a month" Janet said and Albert was about to talk when they suddenly heard loud shouts from the hallway outside. The shouts became nearer untill it finally came in and their eyes widened.
Ruby was standing right in front of them with Vina, Dr Faith, some doctors and interns beside her
"Ruby?" Richard called wiping his tears, thinking maybe he was beginning to see things but she was still in front of him.
"Sweet heart" Ruby said and her tears fell as she ran to him Richard got down from the bed and met her halfway and they hugged each other so tight but her tummy did a good job in preventing the hug from becoming tight
"Richard I missed you" she said tearfully
"Don't talk Ruby, just shut up and let's stay like this" he replied and she kept mute that only her sobs could be heard.
Albert's eyes caught Vina and she faced the floor, too embarrassed to look at him.
"Where have you been" Richard finally spoke up
"I was pushed from the stairs, but Vina here saved me and Dr Faith saved me completely" Ruby replied but Richard broke the hug and bent in front of her touching her tummy and kissed it eventually.
"My baby, how're you doing, dad is here now." Richard said and he kissed her belly repeatedly again before hugging her while the interns and the doctors who are present clapped loudly at the reunion as many made videos.
"I'm sorry, my mum did that to your parents" Richard said in her arms
"You have no right to be sorry it was her fault and not yours and I'm glad she's paying for it already. Richard I love you insanely" she said breaking the hug,
"I love you immensely my Ruby" he replied and in the next minute, he held her cheeks and kissed her softly and passionately but it was short and heartwarming.
He broke it but still held her cheeks.
"Let's get married baby, marry me Ruby" Richard said and tears of joy fell from Ruby's eyes
"What were you expecting? I can't possibly say no when I'm carrying your baby yes sweetheart yes yes a million times" she replied happily and he kissed her again but it was deep this time and the clapping increased.
They broke it after some minutes and hugged each other and that's when they had eyes for the others
"My darling" Ruby said, hugging Janet tightly
"Sweetheart I'm so happy to have you back. You don't know how happy I am" she replied and pecked her and she hugged Julius lightly too.
"I'm glad you're back, I really don't know how to take care of people with mental problem so you saved me by coming back" Julius said and Richard hit him playfully.
"Casanova" she said when she got to Albert
"Not anymore, I got tired of it already" he replied
"High five" Ruby said and they did a high five
"So candy heart, meet my new mum to be, Dr Faith, she took care of me and our baby during my one month in coma without collecting a dime" Ruby said and Dr Faith smiled.
"How can I thank you madam? just how can I say my thanks" Richard said
"Nothing much, just let me adopt your wife to be my daughter" she replied
"It's fine, you took care of her what more is there to ask for" he said
"Thanks Mr Richard Peak" Dr Faith replied with a grateful smile
"And this is Magnet sorry I mean Vina, the one who took me from the Rockview, I actually have known her from the orphanage and she's like a sister to me" Ruby said
"Thanks a lot Vina, thanks very much I'm just very happy for witnessing a day like this today, I'm so overwhelmed, thanks a bunch" Richard said and Vina bowed with a smile.
"She's really a Magnet" Albert mumbled, looking at Vina who kept her face down
"Oh dear, you don't have to be mad, she actually used the money she took from you on me, so I'll pay back Albert" Ruby said
"It's nothing, I'm just praising her abilities" Albert replied
"I need to go see the devil for the last time" Richard said, meaning Madam Sylvia" We should take her to the hospital" a cop said Immediately.
Richard entered the station with Albert Ruby and the others
"I'll talk to her first" Albert replied
"Thirty minutes from now, she'll bleed till death" another cop said
"Who cares". Richard replied and they were led to the room where she was. She sat on a chair, the empty bleeding arm was covered with a cloth though the clothe was wet with blood already.
She was already shaking and crying at the same time but Richard interrupted.
"It must be painful right?" Richard asked
"My son" Madam Sylvia called
"Don't call me that" he interrupted
"I'm just sorry, it's just that, the world was so boring, I just thought of adding a little sauce" she said in tears.
"A little sauce, by killing the Innocent one's?" Ruby said.
"I'm just here to say bye although you don't deserve it but it's my last gift but your spirit is so unlucky, I gave you one month and in just two weeks, you're about to die. You deserve it anyways, dying with only one hand is the best for someone like you , I wished Hilda had the chance to cut off the other one before the cops intervened" Albert said and Madam Sylvia started another round of tears
"I'm so sorry" Madam Sylvia cried pleading
"Too late its remaining just five minutes left for you" Albert said checking the time
"You know what Madam Sylvia?, chase the devil from the throne once you get to hell because that throne belongs to you" Vina said, rolling her eyes.
They left the place as she started gasping for breath and died on the spot.
Immediately after coming back from the station, they went straight to a registrar's office to adopt Ruby, Vina and Janet as Doctor Faith's daughters registering their surnames as hers even though it'll soon change anyways since they're all getting married soon, but what matters is that they now have a mum to call theirs.
Doctor Faith stayed with them throughout that day before going back the second day, promising to come check on them every weekend especially Ruby
"Baby" Ruby called with a smile on her face. Her face was gradually changing from radiant to tired, maybe because of the pregnancy.
