The silence that followed Hazel's departure from the table was alarming, everyone focused on their food. They all had issues with one man who has refused to be remorseful for his actions. Not that his apology could change a thing. They all acted to be okay before Hazel cause it was her special day, and then go back to the way they are the moment she left. Maria wouldn't have allowed her family to step foot in Alex's mansion ever again if this surprise party was not planned before his confession.
They should blame Hazel too, but Maria knew she would never support killing someone, that's one of the reasons she loved her. Hazel was different from the rest of them, she just couldn't tolerate it.
Alex walked out of the dining room excluding himself from their weird attitude and found his way up the stairs in search of his wife, wondering why she was taking too long to pee. He should keep an eye on her, especially with his family members around, especially Avery even if she's sitted calmly at the table. Her saying she had nothing in mind against his wife was so absurd and a blatant lie, he knew her more than anyone.
His hard-hearted demonic cousin, a stoned-hearted woman would do anything to get her revenge on his family. That's one of the reasons he's not surprised nature was punishing her the way it did. He didn't know why Hazel was quick to believe anything people told her, even if she knew they weren't genuine towards her.
He climbed the grand stairs to the upper sector, only to see his wife lose her balance, but he was quick to catch her. "Are you okay? You should be careful when coming down the stairs." He scolded as he held her in his arms like a valuable feature, trying so hard to calm his raising heart. Fear was evident in his eyes for the first time in a really long time, this woman would definitely be the end of him. He thought letting out a frustrated sigh.
For a moment there he thought he's lost his world, she wasn't alone this time, she had another human growing in her, if anything happens to them he'd never forgive himself.
"Did you see anyone there, Alex?" She asked turning her gaze to the hallway. Alex looked up with a slight frown, "There is no one there." He said. "But I felt it, it felt like someone had pushed me from the stairs." He left her side and quickly ran up to the hallways to see no one. Someone was playing a mind game with him. If Hazel said someone pushed her, then someone did push her, but who?
"Let's go." He picked her up in bridal style and took her down the stairs. He could see how flushed her cheeks were, she was embarrassed. And his family was not helping cause it felt like everyone was present in the lounge at that moment. "We'll be taking our leave now Hazel, be safe," Maria said ignoring her son for the first time ever, hoping he'd notice and at least know that this time, he's wrong.
"Thank you, mother." Both Alex and his wife watched them leave in silence. It was now obvious something was going on in the family, as it should, not when Alex is responsible for killing a soon-to-be son-in-law for their family. He didn't just kill the man for just cause, he killed him cause of her, she's the reason Falcon was murdered. How could she forgive herself for it?
She wished all of these worries would be over soon, she wished none of that happened, and then their family would be reunited again. But those were just mere fallacies, their family was divided, and with the way things are going, it might be forever. "Are you sure you felt someone touch you?" Alex asked again, even if he was present in the room, his mind lingered around the incident from before. The more he thought about the possibility of someone pushing her, the more furious he got. Just how dare they?
Alex helped her seat on the couch, the worry was evident on her face and he hated it. If she cannot be safe in her home, then where else can she be safe? "You should apologize to your family for the evil you committed Alex. Maybe they'd forgive you and end all these nonsense revenge shit." He stared down at her lips, the lips she used to utter such abominable words. Apologize? It seems someone needed to be reminded who she's married to.
"Do I need to tell you how impossible that request is?" She met his gaze not quite surprised at his reply. She is married to a stubborn man with lots of egos, it'll take forever to get Alex to apologize to anyone.
Infact the only person he has been able to apologize to is her and no one else. "But..." Her words were buried in his mouth as he captured her lips with his. One hand on her shoulder arm and another on her chin to gain full access to her warm mouth, which tasted like nothing he has tasted before. Her lips is one place that drives him nut. The softness. The taste. The warmness. Every damn thing about it gets him insane.
"Don't get me more upset than I already am with such words." He said through his kiss as he bit her lower lips. "Ahh!" Hazel grimaced hitting him on his chest before holding her lips.
"You're crazy." Alex chuckled at her words. There was nothing more entertaining than when she was upset. Infact that's her most cute state, that's one of the reasons he chuckles.
"Mama, papa." They turned in the direction of the voices from the triplet. Since it was late, both people thought they'd be asleep, but no, they were all awake. And Leah had to frown at her father's betrayal for kissing her mother.
"Babies, what is wrong?" "You, eh." She breathed before parting her lips to speak again, "Touch, touch, muah." Leah stated not being able to form a sentence fluently. "Mummy didn't kiss and play with you tonight?" Alex corrected for her to disagree, shaking her head with a deep frown. And just like her mother, he chuckled again. It's like the women in his life just all wanted to be his Hazel, but what can he do? She gave birth to her junior.
"You kissed mama." She finally said. "And you want me to kiss you too?" He asked as if having no idea what she wants. Leah nodded pacing to him, "And you Kyle, what do you want, the same thing?" Kyle nodded at his father's words. "Junior?" He asked the last one with the attitude but still had to come out cause his sister dragged him out. One thing both boys would never joke with was their annoying sister, even if they fought all the time.
"She didn't read our bedtime story." He said for all of his siblings to nod in agreement. "Elena was meant to read them a bedtime story and make sure they were asleep so why didn't she?" Hazel asked...
