Several weeks have passed since the incident with the mountain bandits and the red hair pirate.
I'm currently with Luffy in front of Makino's bar.
Since getting the straw hat from Shanks, he has never taken it off except when taking a shower. Of course, Only if he was forced by Makino.
"Hey Luffy, what have you been up to these few days?" I asked him.
"Huh? Well... I just went to the forest to look at the trees." He replied with his lousy acting.
'This kid…He sucks at lying.' I thought while looking at him blankly.
"Really? Then can I come with you to 'see the trees'?" I said emphasizing the ending.
When I asked that, panic started to appear on his face. He was silent for a few moments as if he was processing a plan in his mind.
To be honest, I wonder what he's doing in that forest. Because in the anime, after getting the straw hat from Shanks, they immediately skip to the next few months when Garp takes Luffy to Dadan's house where he first met Ace.
So I was a bit curious if he was training in that forest or doing something else.
After thinking for about ten seconds Luffy seemed to have found an idea to make me not want to go with him.
"Cough... Well I don't recommend you to come with me. Because in that forest there is a huge monster that will eat girls when it sees it." He replied dramatizing every word he said.
'Hah! Look at this kid. He thinks any fool would believe his lousy acting.'
"Is it true?! Then we have to tell the other villagers right now!" I tried to look surprised as I answered. Maybe I'll play with him for a while.
However, before he could answer, an old man suddenly stood before us. It was Garp, our grandfather. He was wearing his navy suit.
Luffy was shocked and immediately looked for a way to run away from Garp. He's like that because two weeks ago when Garp came back, he told him he was going to become a pirate.
Garp, who was not happy with Luffy's words, disciplined him using his love punch. Since that day Garp has always been looking for ways to make Luffy give up his dream of becoming a pirate. However, the stubborn Luffy always doesn't want to listen to him making him discipline him repeatedly using his love punch.
Since then, Luffy started looking for ways to avoid Garp. But unfortunately for him, Garp always managed to find him wherever he was hiding.
"Hello grandpa!" I greeted him by hugging his thigh.
To be honest, during the seven years I lived in this world, Garp was like my grandfather back in my old life in this world. I don't know if it's because I miss my old grandfather, because I've always felt comfortable with Garp.
You could say he is one of the people I care about in this world.
Garp let out his grandfatherly smile then started stroking my head.
"Hello to you too Luna. Have you been well in the few weeks I wasn't here?" His gentle voice signifies his affection for his granddaughter.
He then turned to Luffy.
"Hello to you too brat. Have you decided to stop chasing that stupid dream of yours?" the gentle tone in his voice lessened but remained and he asked Luffy.
Luffy made a displeased face and answered angrily.
"What are you calling a stupid dream you stupid grandpa. I will definitely become a great pirate that even you can't catch me! Humph!"
Veins appeared on Garp's forehead and he started to prepare himself to discipline his grandson.
Luffy who saw it, immediately ran as fast as possible to avoid Garp's love blow. But alas for him. I mean, what could he do to avoid being punched by a naval hero who achieved his success with his fists alone?
What happened next was just like what had happened before. Garp punched Luffy with his love punch and a battered Luffy after being beaten.
After the usual events happened, Garp and Luffy sat in Makino's bar and Garp told him about his purpose in coming here.
Garp intends to take Luffy to Mount Colubo to be entrusted to a bandit boss named Dadan Curly. Currently there is a child older than Luffy living there.
Garp wanted to make the two of them able to be friends with each other because the boy who lived with Dadan had never been friends with anyone before.
Of course, you already know who that kid is, right?
Anyway, as usual Luffy refused to go with Garp. Because of that, Garp picked him up and carried him by force.
I said my goodbyes while waving my hand while looking at Luffy who was struggling in Garp's grip. Seeing that funny incident, Makino and I laughed.
The figures of Luffy and Garp started to disappear from our sight.
After Luffy and Garp left, Makino told me to deliver something to the port.
I delivered the goods casually, not knowing the danger that awaited me there.
