Lukas and William hurriedly walked through the mansion's garden, as if they would miss something if they were one minute late. The young boy nearly collided with a decoration of pink balloon-adorned flowers arranged beautifully along the cobblestone path.
"Be careful, you could just walk slowly, nobody's going to scold you even if you're late," William warned. "This isbnot school."
"No way! If I'm late, Bella said I have to dance with Katie as punishment," Lukas exclaimed, still in a panic. He couldn't believe his father chose to pick up a woman and nearly made them late for Katie's birthday party. "It's your fault, Dad! Why did you have to pick up Aunt Lea and Vaughn?"
William reflexively looked back at Lea and her son, Vaughn, who appeared awkwardly relaxed. He shouldn't have treated Lea like that because regardless, today she came as William's date.
