Mc Ivan's POV
I arrived early at Kissa's house, it's a great time because today is also my rest day.
I'm just praying that, I won't be called on emergency duty.
Not today because it's Neil's special day.
I made sure to look presentable. Girls like presentable men, right?
And men who smell good, I want to empress her.
“Hi Kissa.” I said when she opened the door.
“Oh, You're early.” She was shocked as I saw her wearing only a tiny white shirt and short pants.
I immediately turned around, thinking it might be awkward for her.
As much as possible, I'm giving her the respect, she deserves.
She looks so hot but of course, I need to keep it to myself.
I don't want her to think I'm a pervert type of guy, which is not really.
I don't watch porn often, so?
“I-It's my rest day, so I came early to h-help you prepare.” I said in a stuttering voice.
Damn! Why do I suddenly feel so hot?
“I couldn't believe you were this early. You can come in.” I walked inside their home, trying to avoid looking her way.
“Neil, can you give your Tito Ivan a drink? I will just change my clothes.” Kissa said, then left us alone.
She's probably uncomfortable of what she's wearing.
I sat on the sofa and after a while Neil joined me with a Lemon juice he prepared.
And of course, with his not so kind face.
He's irritated, for sure. I can feel it.
He was looking at me like he's about to eat me.
“Happy birthday, Neil, I hope you would like this.” I said and handed him my gift.
I know he doesn't like me, but maybe the gift will.
He's a kid, after all.
He opened the gift.
“Wow-
He smiled, but when our eyes met, he became serious again.
He cleared his throat, trying to hide his smile.
I chuckled.
“I can see that you like it.” I teased him.
“Don't get me wrong, I still don't want you for my Mom.” He said in a cold tone.
This child.
He never surrendered.
What's with me to dislike? My mother told me, I'm the most handsome guy she has ever seen.
“I know, you told me that countless times already. And I won't stop proving myself to you and to your Mom.” I said in full determination.
Of course, I won't surrender either.
Kissa is worth fighting for.
“I can sense something in you, I feel like, you're a bad person.” He said.
My eyebrows creased.
“You think so?” I challenge him.
“Yeah, I even think you're Serious Guy.” He casually said those words.
Wait, what? Did I hear it right?
“What?!” I literally said it loud.
Because, maybe I heard it wrong.
“The green note on every victim's hand, that's the same note you left in every cheesedesals you brought here whenever my Mom isn't around.” He said.
I took a deep signed.
How did he know about the green note? Is it on news too?
“You know what, you can think of me of anything, I know you don't like me, Neil. But that's too harsh, I don't even know how to kill a puppy, and you're thinking I can kill a man? I can't do that. I'm not Seious Guy, but I'm serious about your Mom.” I told her seriously.
“I love her like I never love anyone before, your Mom is different. She deserves the world, and I can give it to her if she'd like. I am a decent man, Neil. I will never hurt anyone, especially you and your Mom.” I said with full determination in my voice.
“And even you push me a million times, I will still pursue your Mom, I love her, Neil. Please, believe me on that.” I added.
He didn't answer, but I know he knows what I'm saying.
I said those with full sincerity in my heart.
After Kissa is done changing her clothes, I started to help her to prepare the things we need for tonight's party.
I can still catch the sharp eyes of Neil towards me, but I'm used to it.
Not just with that Serious Guy thing.
But there's something bothering me.
It's the note, Neil is talking about.
I always asked the assistant in the coffee and bread shop to put the note in the paper bag.
And based on what Neil told me, it's always a green note.
“Kissa, can I excuse for a while? I just need to make a call.” I told Kissa.
She smiled as she nodded.
“Go on.” I smiled at her before going to their backyard.
“Hello, Maine, I need you to do something.” I said to Maine on the other line.
“Why? Are you gonna asked us to buy a gift for Neil?” She asked.
“No, I already buy him one. This is about, Serious Guy.” I replied.
“What about him? Yah, you're scaring me. Don't tell me there's another victim?” She asked.
“No, no, it's just that, I think I found some lead. But don't tell them yet, I'm not that certain about this.” I took a deep sighed.
“Okay, okay, spill the tea.” She sounds excited.
Among all of them, Maine is one of those I can trust the most.
“You guys know that every morning I bought Kissa's favorite cheesedesal, I always asked favor to the assistant at coffee and bread store to put a simple note, well, Neil told me he noticed that the note is written in a green paper, just like the paper Serious Guy used.” I explained.
“Oh, so you're thinking, that maybe one of the staff there is actually Serious Guy?” She can't believe it, just like me.
“Nothing is certain, that's why, I'm telling you this. Can you check it out? Perhaps, this could be a lead. Let's just try our luck.” I told her.
“Okay, I'm in!” She excitedly said.
I can sense determination in her voice.
Even me, I am determined to dig this up. This possibly a hope.
I just hope I'm not wrong because if we are right…
Might be this time…
We can catch him...
Finally.
