It was common knowledge that for one to use Ira energy in any simple way one must use a spell, if a contractor wanted to increase his strength he would have to cast a strength-enhancing spell on himself but Tommy had no idea, for him having control over the flow of Ira in ones body was supposed to be an easy task.

Tommy's way and ideology on the usage of Ira were from the cultivation manga and novels he had read, using Ira to coat the whole body was something only high grade contract could do and it was kept secret from other contractors, apart from their high Ira reserve nothing was differentiating them from regular Contractors, hence why they kept some ira techniques from the public.
