Capítulo 17: Chapter 17: First official quest The Rogue Mage

Arin, Kira, and Luke walked down the spiral staircase from their team office on the third floor, the polished stone steps echoing under their boots. As they descended, they could hear the sound of chatter and footsteps getting louder with every step. Finally, they reached the first floor and entered the bustling lobby where the job board was located. The board was an impressive sight to behold, a towering wooden structure that reached nearly to the ceiling, covered with flyers and posters of various quests and bounties.

The trio approached the board, scanning the quests on offer. There were all kinds of jobs, ranging from simple tasks like delivering packages to escorting valuable goods through dangerous territory. As they looked closer, they could see that the difficulty and rewards of the jobs varied greatly, with the highest-paying quests requiring the highest-ranked teams.

Arin spotted a copper-ranked quest that looked promising. "How about this one? It says here that a group of bandits has been terrorizing a nearby village. They're offering a reward of 500 gold for anyone who can stop them."

Kira looked at the flyer and nodded. "That sounds like a good starting point. We could use the gold, and it shouldn't be too difficult for us."

Luke, however, was looking for something a little more challenging. He scanned the board for a few moments before pointing to a silver-ranked quest. "What about this one? It says that a powerful mage has been causing havoc in the nearby forest, and the local authorities are offering 2,000 gold to anyone who can stop them."

Arin and Kira looked at each other, considering the job. It was definitely a step up from the bandit quest, but they had trained hard and felt ready to take on more challenging quests.

Finally, Kira spoke up. "Let's do it. We can handle a silver-ranked quest, and the gold will be a big help to us."

Arin and Luke both nodded in agreement, and they set their sights on the silver-ranked quest. As they took the flyer down from the board, they noticed a few other quests that caught their eye, including a gold-ranked bounty for a notorious criminal. They made a mental note to come back and check on the board after they had completed the mage quest.

As they left the lobby and headed out into the busy streets, they felt a sense of excitement and anticipation. They were a team now, and they were ready to take on whatever challenges lay ahead.

Arin, Kira, and Luke headed back to the school after checking out the job board. Arin was excited to attend his next class, Magical Beasts. They made their way through the crowded hallways and split up to go to their respective classes.

Arin entered the classroom and took a seat. The walls were adorned with posters of different magical creatures, from the fierce dragons to the elusive unicorns. Arin's teacher, a tall and imposing figure, entered the room and began the lesson.

She spoke about the different types of magical creatures, their habitats, and their behaviors. She showed the class illustrations of the creatures and asked them to identify them. Arin was especially interested in the section on rare magical beasts, and eagerly took notes.

The class continued with a lecture on magical beast anatomy and how to identify their strengths and weaknesses. Arin was amazed at how much he was learning about creatures he had only heard about in legends and stories.

The final part of the class involved a practical demonstration. The teacher summoned a small creature and placed it in a cage in the center of the room. She then called on Arin to come forward and use his knowledge to identify the creature's weaknesses and strengths.

Arin approached the cage and carefully observed the creature. He noticed its shimmering scales and sharp claws, and concluded that it was a type of drake. He then used his knowledge to explain the creature's strengths and weaknesses.

The teacher nodded in approval, and dismissed the class. Arin left the room feeling elated and more knowledgeable about magical creatures than ever before.

Meanwhile, Kira made her way to the archery range for her Combat Training class. The range was a large, open-air field with targets set up at various distances. Kira took her place at one end of the range, her bow and quiver of arrows at her side.

The instructor called out to the students, instructing them to begin shooting at the targets. Kira drew her bowstring back, taking careful aim before releasing the arrow. It sailed through the air and hit the target with a satisfying thud.

Finally, Luke headed to his Alchemy class, which was held in a small laboratory. The room was filled with bubbling cauldrons and shelves lined with all sorts of strange ingredients. Luke took his place at a lab station, donning a pair of protective gloves.

The professor gave them their task for the day, which was to create a healing potion using a variety of ingredients. Luke carefully measured out the ingredients, following the instructions to the letter. As he mixed the potion, he could feel the magical energy swirling and coalescing in the flask.

At the end of the day, Arin, Kira, and Luke met up outside the school, chatting excitedly about what they had learned in their respective classes. They were eager to put their new knowledge to use on their next quest, and couldn't wait to see what adventures lay ahead for The Arcane Vanguard.

As the final bell of the day rang out through the halls of Acranum School of Magic, Arin, Luke, and Kira made their way to their Adventuring Class. They walked down the hallway, the sound of their footsteps echoing off the stone walls as they chatted excitedly about their day.

When they arrived at the classroom, Professor Althea was waiting for them, a smile on her face. As they walked in, she greeted them warmly and gestured for them to take a seat.

As they sat down, Arin, Luke, and Kira each pulled out their new Adventuring Association Rank badges, eager to show off their new statuses. Professor Althea's eyes widened as she saw the badges, and she gave them each a congratulatory nod.

"Emerald Rank, Arin, that's quite impressive," she said, looking at his badge with a hint of awe. "And Silver Rank for both Luke and Kira, very well done."

Arin beamed with pride, his chest swelling with a sense of accomplishment. He had worked hard to pass the Elite Exam and earn the Emerald Rank, and it felt good to be recognized for his achievements.

As the class began, Professor Althea launched into a discussion about the different types of magical creatures they may encounter on their adventures. She described everything from goblins to dragons, giving the class a comprehensive overview of the various beasts they may encounter.

Arin leaned in, his eyes sparkling with interest. He had always been fascinated by magical creatures and was eager to learn more about them.

Throughout the class, they discussed different strategies for dealing with magical creatures, as well as the various tools and spells that could be used to subdue or defeat them.

As the class drew to a close, Professor Althea reminded them of the importance of being prepared and cautious when dealing with magical creatures. She also gave them a list of potential quests they could undertake, ranging in difficulty from copper to silver to gold rank.

As they left the classroom, Arin, Luke, and Kira felt a renewed sense of excitement for their future adventures. They were eager to put their new knowledge to the test and tackle the challenges that lay ahead.

As the team prepared for their upcoming quest to stop the rogue mage, Arin went to their magic workshop to work on Luke's fighting gauntlets. He carefully inscribed the Wind Blade rune onto the gauntlets, using precise and delicate movements to ensure the rune was perfect.

Arin's brow furrowed with concentration as he etched the last stroke of the rune onto the gauntlets. He examined his work, nodding in satisfaction at the result. With the Wind Blade rune inscribed, Luke's gauntlets would be able to slice through the air with incredible speed, enhancing his already impressive fighting abilities.

Arin cleaned up his workspace and headed back to the team's meeting room, where Kira and Luke were discussing their plan of attack for the upcoming mission. As he entered the room, Arin held up the gauntlets, showing off his handiwork.

"Check it out, Luke," Arin said, a proud grin on his face. "Your gauntlets now have the Wind Blade rune inscribed on them. You're going to be unstoppable with those."

Luke grinned, taking the gauntlets from Arin and examining them closely. "This is incredible, Arin. Thank you so much. With these, I'll be able to slice through anything."

Kira nodded in agreement. "It's amazing what you can do with rune magic, Arin. Your skills are truly impressive."

Arin blushed at the compliments, feeling a surge of pride and satisfaction at the recognition of his hard work. "Thanks, guys. I'm just glad I could contribute to the team's success. Now, let's focus on taking down that rogue mage and bringing peace back to the forest."

Arin, Luke, Kira, and Azazelith made their way through the forest, scanning the trees for any sign of the rogue mage they were tasked with taking down. Kira kept a firm grip on her Staff of Elemental Mastery, ready to unleash her powerful magic at a moment's notice.

Suddenly, a bolt of lightning streaked through the air, narrowly missing the group. They quickly scattered, ducking behind trees and boulders for cover. The rogue mage had revealed themselves, and they were not holding back.

Luke stepped forward, drawing upon his fire magic to create a wall of flames that crackled and hissed, forcing the rogue mage to back off. Arin followed suit, using Wind Blade to slice through the air and create a powerful gust that knocked the mage off balance.

Kira, meanwhile, focused her magic and summoned a deluge of water that crashed down on the rogue mage with a deafening roar. The mage countered with a burst of lightning, but Azazelith was there to intercept, using her demonic magic to absorb the blast and redirect it harmlessly into the ground.

The fight raged on, the four of them weaving in and out of each other's spells, dodging and countering with lightning-fast reflexes. The rogue mage was powerful, but they were no match for the combined might of Arin, Luke, Kira, and Azazelith.

Finally, Kira saw an opening and struck with a powerful blast of earth magic that sent the rogue mage flying. With one final blast of fire from Luke, the mage was defeated.

Breathing heavily, the group gathered together, relieved and victorious. Azazelith let out a fierce roar, her demonic aura pulsing with dark energy. Arin grinned, proud of his commander and familiar, while Kira and Luke exchanged a nod of mutual respect.

Arin had Azazelith carry the rogue mage back from the forest to the Headquarters to turn in the quest and receive their rewards

Arin, Luke, Kira, and Azazelith made their way back to the Adventurers Association Headquarters with the captured rogue mage in tow. The sun was beginning to set on the horizon, casting a warm orange and red glow across the sky. The group walked through the bustling streets, with Arin leading the way with the rogue mage in chains.

As they entered the Association's headquarters, the noise level dropped, and everyone turned to look at the group. Arin held up the captive rogue mage and announced their successful mission. The room erupted into cheers and applause.

The group presented the rogue mage to the officials, who quickly took him into custody and began the process of securing him.

In exchange for their hard work and bravery, the group was awarded 2000 gold, a sum that left them all grinning from ear to ear.

The group basked in the warmth of their accomplishment, savoring the feeling of victory and the recognition that came with it. Azazelith stood tall, her fiery eyes burning with satisfaction, while Kira smiled brightly, her staff held high, and Luke let out a joyful whoop, the flames of his magic flickering brightly around him.

After receiving their reward and gaining some reputation with the Adventures Association, Arin, Luke, Kira, and Azazelith made their way up to their team's office. The building was tall and made of sturdy stone, with large windows that let in plenty of natural light.

As they climbed the stairs, they chatted excitedly about their victory over the rogue mage. Azazelith was particularly pleased with the outcome, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction as she recounted the battle to her companions.

Arin walked over to a large desk in the center of the room and pulled out a ledger to record their successful completion of the quest. Kira and Luke plopped down on a nearby sofa, still buzzing with the thrill of their recent victory.

Azazelith perched on the arm of the sofa, as she watched the others with a quiet intensity.

As Arin finished recording their success, he leaned back in his chair and let out a deep sigh of contentment. "Well, that was a job well done," he said, a small smile playing at the corners of his mouth.

Luke nodded vigorously in agreement. "Yeah, we really showed that rogue mage what we're made of," he said, grinning from ear to ear.

Kira added, "And we made a good amount of gold, too. Maybe we can finally afford to upgrade our equipment."

Azazelith let out a soft chuckle. "You humans and your obsession with material possessions," she said, shaking her head. "But I suppose a few upgrades wouldn't hurt."

The group laughed and chatted for a while longer, enjoying the warm glow of success and the camaraderie of their team. As the night wore on, they eventually said their goodbyes and made their way back to their dorms , already dreaming of the next adventure that awaited them.
