Capítulo 97: Shopkeeper

"Good day sir, your taxes are due today" a voice resounded as Emei burst out laughing.

"it wasn't even a day since I have seen you" Andrew smiled, glad that his mentor and alchemic friend was going to be nearby.

"Haha, let's talk inside" Emei awkwardly chuckled as she pushed him through the door.

Once inside, they both looked at each other and understandingly nodded. Then, they unruffled their mana senses and flooded them with Andrew's recently invented jamming runes that relayed casual chit-chat to anything spying on them, effectively masking anything sensitive.

"What's the matter?" Andrew asked with a concerned voice.

"Well, I am sure you already might have guessed that my contract terms are quite different" Emei said.

"Naturally, after all you are quite skilled as a mid-level 1-grade alchemist. it's in their best interests to preserve you since some of your products might still be useful to Pantheon's higher-ups" Andrew knowingly remarked.
