Both Sir Solitar and King Roderman felt a slight pain in their chests, as though something had just flicked their hearts, they both knew this feeling all too well.
This was what veterans like them called deep sorrow, it was nothing anymore but they felt it, that one of their comrades had met their end.
Roderman simply shook his head, sitting atop his throne, he remained passive until the right day came, his utter patience and calmness despite everything seemed to have caused a change in himself, he looked into the distance, at a window.
These days, it felt like someone was looking over him, someone he didn't know and would never meet, not a god but someone he could have shook hands with.
It was strange and it almost sounded like the king of Roderst was losing his mind.
He had never felt more patient than today, he turned his head back to face forward, there, his treasurer, Rent was kneeling respectfully.
He spoke of typical things, talking of how the country had never flourished so much, how their agricultural dominance was reaching greater peaks than ever despite the great loss they had suffered.
None of them seemed joyful of such developments however, most of their trade was now with the monsters, most of their production and manpower went directly to fortify the ever growing ranks of the Obsidian Queen.
Each day that passed without taking action only meant that doing so the next day would be harder, more difficult and cost them so much more.
Still, Roderman, dignified king of Roderst, remained patient and it seemed like it was washing over his subordinates as well, they all collectively seemed to understand that bidding their time was the best they could do.
Roderman worries were about his country and people, but Sir Solitar had no such burden, his only remaining duty was to watch over the crystals, make sure no one else could even think of harnessing power from them.
When he felt that slight pain in his heart, Solitar looked over at Superstes instinctively, not realising what his own action meant, he then surveyed the surroundings.
His eyes fell on a pale figure in the distance, standing as still as a corpse, a man with white hair, dressed in a white, torn robe, his arms hanging loosely by his sides.
His face was mostly covered his hair, though it was clear that his mouth was opening and closing, he was saying something in a low tone but his jaw's movements were slow and exaggerated.
Finally, he stopped entirely, huddled his arms against his body, shivered despite the lack of cold winds and fell back, his body disappearing behind a hill.
Sir Solitar remained on guard, not showing any sign of shock or surprise despite what he had just witnessed.
He had understood what the pale figure had tried to say.
'My friend' those had been his words, nothing but two meaningless things were it not for the one who had spoken them.
'...' Solitar couldn't say he hadn't known that his old friend, the oracle of the nameless group had been broken free during the monster invasion of Roderst.
He was well aware of it, Roderman had made of point of reminding him multiple times.
Sir Solitar wasn't worried about this, in fact, he was happy that he had come to him.
Building a prison to seal the oracle hadn't been his idea, Solitar had never hoped that his friend would regain his sanity, had it been only onto him, he would have already freed his old friend.
He debated whether to go for it now or not, but the oracle was already gone, he had rushed away, toward the root of his madness.
"Let's pick up the pace" he spoke aloud, before leaving everyone else in the dust with a single step.

Unbeknowst to Axiolypito, the sealed zealot, which had been supposed to stay under the form of a necklace around his neck, was making a move that wasn't in his orders.
The pale man was only pacified when around anything relating to Mov, having been separared from Axio, he moved toward the one location he knew he could find what was desired.
The wretch wouldn't have cared much either way, he wasn't the biggest fan of underlings he didn't have under one hundred percent of his control.
As of now, he was more interested in his lastest evolution, as per usual, he had seen a slight increase to all of his capacities, nothing much.
He hadn't gained any new abilities either, what he had obtained seemed more akin to his various sets of claws, a bodily change.
His heart and blood were no longer the same.
He was some sort of abyssal monster now.
And this impacted some of his abilities, were he to infuse Abyss into them.
Spawn spawner, needle possession, seeds of challenge as well as offspring manipulation.
Nothing too special, in order, it allowed him to spawn animals corrupted by the Abyss, turn needled monsters into abyssal creatures, create Abyss-themed towers and dungeons and for the last one-
It was simply that since he was of the Abyss now, his offsprings could also be.
'The possibilities just expanded!' he rubbed his hands together while cackling like an old witch.
He then swam away from the place were he had faced the Abyss Eater, quickly noticing something as he got closer to the entrance guarded by Nartak.
Before, it appeared like his abilities were impaired by the Abyss but now that he had it in him, it seemed unlikely that its influence would still be impeding Axiolypito.
It seems like something else was at play and whatever it was, it was definitely behind the hadal serpent, this was where it was strongest.
When Axio showed up in front of the Bloated Hadal Serpent, there seemed to be a slight moment of confusion on the guardian's part.
Nartak was astonished to see the wretch bearing Abyss but he still didn't move a milimeter, he wasn't going to rush in without care, or so he would have done, if not for what Axio suddenly held up.
The ocean grew completely silent, no creatures moved, the inhabitants of the city stuckin endless loops looked over in the direction of the great serpent, suddenly, all dropped down and sung praises to the divine beast that served their king.
As for Axiolypito, he looked just as relaxed and nonchalant as usual, but was actually quite taken aback.
Nartak's killing intent was so strong and had been so sudden, it was like falling in freezing waters when you were dying from absolute heat in a desolate desert.
