Ripley's POV

Motels should be required to have better lighting. It really seemed like a safety hazard to have to stumble up the stairs and down the hall. She could have taken the elevator, Ripley supposed, but she wasn't interested in being seen in her condition.

She had at least managed to evade injury this time around.

She did, however, have a lot to think about now.

Blake didn't remember her dropping him. Thank goodness for that. As she had watched the fleshgait chomp into Fenrir's neck, she had been so physically pained by the sight of it that she couldn't hold Blake up for another moment.

She had been so sure there would be a bruise across her chest where she'd hit the platform, but it felt surprisingly okay. Much like how her shoulder wasn't bothering her, even though she knew it should. She'd been positive she had dislocated it again, but there had been no need to force it back into socket this time.

It was inexplicable, what had happened.
