Capítulo 147: Calm Before the Storm 2
Unfortunately, the reports that Doctor Doom's men were able to obtain were not complete. The only one who could destroy Magneto and the Brotherhood of Mutants was Battle Sage alone, without the help of the mutants and the Avengers.
Doctor Doom soon realized that this alliance of villains was actually Magneto trying to use Doctor Doom, who was good at science and magic. After all, if Doctor Doom wanted to, he could invent various ways to try to destroy humanity.
Magneto had not yet awakened the power to reverse the Earth's magnetic field, so he could only threaten humanity with terrorism. That's why Magneto wanted Doctor Doom's help.
But Magneto didn't care that this situation would put Doctor Doom in the sights of the Avengers. Perhaps even the peace in Latveria would end if Doctor Doom threatened to destroy the Earth just to help Magneto.
"I'm sorry, Magneto, but as you always prioritize protecting the mutants, I also want to protect Latveria. If I confront the Avengers, I will become their target and so will Latveria," said Doctor Doom.
"You know you can't let the Avengers continue to gain influence in the world. At least we have to make governments turn against the Avengers. You can help with that as the king of Latveria," said Magneto.
"I also don't like the Avengers, but until I'm sure I can beat them all, I won't try to face them. I'm sorry, Magneto," said Doctor Doom.
Magneto was irritated by Doctor Doom's cowardice. They were proud villains who could threaten the Earth before the arrival of the Avengers. Few heroes could do anything against them. Magneto was worried because he knew Jack's true strength, but Doctor Doom seemed afraid to even without seeing Jack's power.
Of course, Magneto would not admit that if he had a country where all mutants lived in peace, he would also not want to provoke the Avengers. He would try to avoid conflict as much as he could.
Doctor Doom also felt bad for fearing the Avengers. In the past, he wouldn't hesitate to invent a machine to threaten to destroy the Earth or just cause chaos in New York or other major countries.
But after suffering several defeats at the hands of only the Fantastic Four and never having a chance, Doctor Doom just wanted peace for Latveria. After all, in this universe, Doctor Doom never had the opportunity to take the powers of Silver Surfer or Galactus.
"I understand that you don't want to get involved, Doctor Doom, but do you have any idea how you can disturb the Avengers? Even if you don't help, I don't want them to have peace," said Magneto with hatred.
Doctor Doom began to think upon hearing this. He didn't want to get involved with the Avengers, but if he could bring chaos to the world to irritate the Avengers, he would. After all, Doctor Doom was still evil and had no pity for people who weren't from Latveria.
After thinking for a while, Doctor Doom remembered a book he read while studying magic. It was a book of ancient Egyptian history, which could be a legend for common people, but for magicians, it was a fact that happened in the past.
Doctor Doom remembered the story of En Sabah Nur, a man who was called a god in the past and who dominated the world for centuries. From what Victor remembered, the story of En Sabah Nur's powers seemed a lot like those of the mutants he knew.
En Sabah Nur dominated the Earth until he was betrayed by his followers who knew he was a false god. In the book, En Sabah Nur was called Apocalypse and it stated where his pyramid was located. The book also said that En Sabah Nur could be awakened because he was immortal.
Victor thought this story was true but exaggerated. Perhaps in a world without technology or other powerful heroes or beings, En Sabah Nur could be a god, but in the current world, he would be, at most, a very big headache for the Avengers.
"I know a story of a powerful being who may be one of the first mutants. He was called En Sabah Nur, and many said he was an immortal god in the past. I know where he is, and you can try to awaken him, but I must say that he is someone who caused death to many who did not follow him, and En Sabah Nur may not be friendly to current mutants," said Victor.
"If he can be a mutant, and is powerful, I need to awaken him, I will tell him what mutants are suffering and that the Avengers and humans are responsible for it, so En Sabah Nur will attack the Avengers and at least make the Earth not worship them anymore," said Magneto, sounding insane with hatred.
Seeing Magneto like that, Doctor Doom said nothing more and gave him the information on where Apocalypse was. If something bad happened, it would be the mutants, humans, and Avengers who would suffer. It was unlikely that anything would happen to Latveria.
While Magneto returned to the Brotherhood of Mutants to tell them about their new plans, Jack didn't know what was going on and had gone to visit his friends whom he hadn't seen in a few months.
Jack saw that Tony Stark was getting closer and closer to marrying Pepper, just as Jack had hoped. Tony had told Pepper what had happened with his parents, and he had been thinking more about his life. This made him think more and more about marrying Pepper, and they finally got engaged.
Jack knew that the way for Tony Stark to calm down and finally find happiness was to marry Pepper and have his daughter and maybe other children now that Jack was going to change his future. After all, in the comics, Tony Stark didn't seem to have found great love and suffered much more.
Jack visited Johnny, who had been doing very well in recent years. He seemed more mature than before in some ways, but he still enjoyed life with new women whenever Jack saw him.
Johnny had started working as a model and actor while enjoying life. He continued to live in the apartment that Jack had loaned him, but now it was Johnny who had bought the apartment and made renovations to make it the way he liked.
Bruce seemed to be starting to accept the life he had gotten back. He went out sometimes, especially with his family, but he still hadn't tried to go on dates and spent most of his time in the lab or training to control his Hulk form even more.
