Capítulo 49: The Battle Gears

Damoen left his mate angry, but he can't blame her. He caused her so much pain. The enemy decided to come after them because they were waiting for them on the fortress. He ordered Luke and assigned hundreds of scouts to protect her; he chose the best among them.

General Gan is still on his way to the camp. He was barking rapid orders to his thousands of warriors when he saw his mate, wearing her white gown, coming to him barefoot. He made several curses as he approached her. He was about to reprimand her when she looked up with tears in her eyes and her feet dirty.

"What is it, kaesha?" Are you in pain?" he asked softly as he wiped the tears with his thumb. Seeing her cry is too much for him after he witnessed her suffering the last time. "I want to bring the women and the children with me. I beg you, my king," she said.
