Capítulo 1: Birthday
'Another year alone for my birthday, I'm not surprised that nobody would want to spend it with me. Seventeen and still alone, what a depressing life.'
A teenage boy sat alone on his sofa watching tv despite it being a special occasion. He felt incredibly down as he was alone again which had been the case for the past four years since he was 13. His parents had died and he had been put in a government provided flat with a monthly allowance for him to survive off of until he was 18.
He stood up and walked over to the large mirror on his wall. when he looked into it, he saw a 5'2 incredibly overweight and quite frankly disgusting looking human. 'If only I had awakened this year. I guess there's always my next birthday.'
This young man had been ignored by his peers for so long, almost as if they were scared of him due to his looks, which had caused him to drop out of his school and live like a hermit.
In a world where humans had been able to awaken powers for over twenty years due to unknown reasons, Cyrus viewed himself as completely useless for not only being unawakened, but also being completely disgusting in his eyes. He was hoping he might have awakened on his birthday, as that was the only time when humans were able to awaken their powers.
Although, he thought that if he did awaken, there was no chance of him having a class and whatever power he got would be weak. Since the beginning of human awakening, talented people had awakened with 'classes' which gave benefits to the awakened person. They were what separated average awakeners from strong ones, and most of the people with them were born with them. However, some were able to gain a class as a reward in The Tower.
The Tower, the most important part of an awakeners life, a place where Awakeners could transport themselves to in order to gain power. Challenges involving defeating monsters and exploring unknown areas were prevalent in The Tower, and defeating the challenges would help an Awakener get stronger through levelling up.
However, none of these things would apply to Cyrus as he was not an Awakened. That's what he thought at least, as while he was looking at his horrible figure in the mirror, he found himself disappearing from his spot. While this was happening, he saw something completely different in the mirror.
Cyrus appeared in a room with an immense number of people in it, and immediately they began to back away from him.
'Am I really that disgusting?' Cyrus thought to himself. Although he had seemingly an awakened now, it seemed like nothing had changed as he was still the same disgusting human that he had seen in the mirror for years. He did not know where it all went wrong, as the longer
He heard the people around him muttering to one another and it was seemingly about him.
"Who is that?"
"He must have been a high ranking player before all of this shit."
Cyrus was confused, as with his appearance there would be no reason for anyone to think he was powerful.
However, when he looked around, he noticed that something was different, his sight which had always been low was now towering above everyone around him. If his vision was not obscured, the height he was looking from would have been at least six foot six inches tall, which was huge compared to his previous height of 5 foot two inches.
He looked down, and was shocked to see an absolutely ripped figure that seemed to be his own body. He was incredibly confused by this, and did not know what was happening.
It seemed as though the reason for people backing away from his wasn't out of disgust, but out of shock for his physical appearance, and for once it was in a good way.
Cyrus wanted to find out what was happening with himself, and thought the best way to find out would probably be by using the staple of all awakeners, his status. He opened his status, and what he saw really surprised him.

'What the hell? Aren't beginner awakener stats normally ten at most? And I guess I figured out what the problem is, the Dysmorphic trait. One fucking trait had been ruining my life, if I knew that I was like this and not some fat pig then I could have done so much more with my life.'
Cyrus' train of thought was cut off though, as a voice rang out through the area that he was in. The room was made out of stone, so the voice echoed loudly and caused everyone to stop speaking.
"I am sure you are all confused about why you have been transported to this area. However, the previous tower that you may or may not have climbed depending on when you awakened was simply a tutorial. Your powers that you had gained will be removed and you will all be reset to level one, but your experience will remain from your experiences. The previous tower only had single player floors, but now some of the floors will be multiplayer. If you had never climbed the tower before today, your lac of experience will be made up for with a class free of charge, but whatever you gain will be based off of your own luck.
Good luck with climbing the new tower, you'll need it. Especially because you can't leave until you clear the Tower, and I'm sure you'll like what you find when you leave."
Once the voice stopped, Cyrus disappeared from the room again and appeared in a cave with a screen in front of him.
