Capítulo 60: Getting farmiliar with the academy part 1
After another minute of silence the director said: "Alright. Go to take your teacher robes. There is also a book for the rules of the academy and the responsibilities of every teacher. It is important to know them so you could use the rules to your benefit. Noble kids will make problems for you if you wont know how to react in the right way for provocations."
Max nodded and said: "Alright. I will do my best."
After a few more words from both sides Max and James left the principle's room. James and Max went to take Valeria and then went to get the teacher's and assistant's robes. They got three robes each. For every another robe they will have to pay. Max thought that this was enough for now so they just left. After wearing the robes Max got a dignified look. Valeria was very beautiful in the new robe. It was tight fitting and because of that all of her curves were reinforced. When Max saw her he smiled. She was gorgeous. He knew that she will attract problems with such attire for sure but he knew that she could handle it. She was stronger than any other fighter in the country if fighting one on one. Max and Valeria had a white circle on their robe but James had blue one. When Max asked about that James informed him that it represents the status of the teacher. White refers to commoners and all other colors are representing different noble status. After changing to their attires and Max putting his senior teacher badge they went to the library to get the different books for Max to get familiar with the academy.
After that they arrived at to the first floor, where a lot of the different teachers were working on different tasks.
James said aloud with a smile: "Colleague let me introduce you to a new senior teacher. This is senior teacher Max."
Max was a little shy. All faces turned to him. There were different people looking at him with various glances. Some were curious, some were looking with respect, dissatisfaction and other different gazes. Some of the younger women teachers of a novice teacher rank were looking at him with adoration, respect and lust. Some even started to smile coquettishly or tried to show a little bit of skin to attract his attention. Some of those women already decided to try and hit on him. Having a senior teacher backing was not a small thing.
Max waved to everyone and said: "I'm looking for working with you! Please let me introduce to you to my assistant. This is Valeria. I hope you take good care of her."
Valeria was also a little shy. She did not interact with people much. She did not know how to communicate in the right way with them.
When the women saw her they a lot of them frowned. It will be not easy to bypass this "assistant". The men audience were smiling at Valeria. Some of them were not even concealing their lust and bad intentions. One of them said to Max with a smile: "Rest assured teacher Max we will take a good care of her."
Max frowned. He got the point but he did not comment on it now. If those guys will make trouble for her behind his back he will tell her just to crush them.
Valeria bowed to the crowd with humility while looking at the floor.
After that one of the teachers with a senior badge as well and a golden circle on his robes that was looking at Valeria like he will eat her right away asked Max, probing the waters: "Teacher Max what subjects will you teach?"
This teacher and others wanted to know if Max was a scholar or more combat oriented teacher. If he was a scholar it will be hard for him to defend against them trying to take Valeria away. The teacher robes had a line that showed that Max was a commoner. As a senior teacher Max had to be not weak, but senior teacher noble and commoner were still on different levels.
Max did not hesitate to answer: "Armed combat, Unarmed combat, Magic combat. That is all for now. Maybe I will take more courses later."
The teacher that probed the waters asked with confusion: "You can also manipulate magic?"
Max shrugged and materialized a small particle of water, earth, wind, fire and lightning in a short amount of time and said: "Yeah. It should be enough to teach the younger generation."
The men teachers paled. The women were looking at Max like a fat sheep. A lot of them were ready to have sexual interaction with him. They had a chance to birth a mage. To start mage lineage. It was a very rare case. Only high level nobles had access to magic. Even having the talent commoners would not be able to learn magic. There was no breathing techniques or spells to study. All the mages were nobles. A commoner learning magic and getting to a level of mage apprentice was something unheard of. It was the same for all countries. Why would you give a power of a knight to a commoner. It was a big risk to give someone of low status such strength.
The nobles were looking at Max with a frown. His existence was not something good for the nobles or the ruling class. They could not really do anything here, but they wanted to get information about this person. One of the senior teachers that was connected to one of the duke families asked: "Where did you learn magic, teacher Max?"
Max got the point from the looks of the noble teachers. Max said with a smile: "I was just lucky. It will be good if a lot of students could study magic. Generally if teachers will have a talent I could teach them as well. I'm sure the principle will be glad for such result."
The teachers got the point. It was an invitation for mostly commoner teachers to study magic. maybe even some low level nobles. The high level nobles had their own methods to study magic. They had some legacies passed in the family.
A lot of commoner teachers changed in face. It was evident that the commoner teachers were suppressed. It was not evident like it was in with the students but it was still easy to see.
One of the commoner teachers gathered his courage and asked: "Teacher Max. How could we know if we have talent for magic? The academy don't have the ability to check if someone has the talent to become a mage."
Max got the point. Mage legacies were hidden from the population. Commoners could not become mages. They could not even test if they had the talent. Because of that they could only go on the path of theory studying or the path of a knight. Even a knight breathing technique was hard to get. That's how the noble families made the talented commoners slaves. The students sold themselves to be able to inherit knowledge that they could pass to the future generation. Most of the breathing techniques given to commoners were lesser versions of the real breathing technique so they could not progress to a high level.
Max smiled again and said: "I have an appraise skill that shows if someone has a talent for knight or magic training. To know the exact level of talent for the knight and magic path or the ability to manipulate the different elements you will have to get tested. It will cost two silver coins for knights and 10 silver coins for mages. About a breathing technique for knights and mages in the academy that don't have one I will think of a way to make breathing technique for the students for knight training and a breathing technique for those who are learning magic. It will not be optimally custom made for a person like I can do to my student's and relatives, but it should be sufficient. About the magic skills. I could potentially give out an attack and defense skill for each element to those I will see that are qualified. I will talk with the principle to decide on the details when we will meet in a week."

The hall descended into silence.
