In the end, Ging resolved to honor Ely's memory by continuing the fight against the supernatural forces that threatened their world. He knew that there would be more losses along the way, but he also believed that their work was essential to preserving the safety and well-being of humanity.
With a heavy heart, Ging closed his laptop and began to prepare for the next steps in their mission.
Axel and the remaining members of their team had been walking for what felt like an eternity, their exhaustion mounting with every step. But finally, after three hours of trekking through the dense forest, they spotted a clearing ahead.
As they emerged from the foliage, they saw Ging and his team waiting for them, their faces a mix of relief and concern. Ging looked at them with a calm gaze, his eyes betraying nothing of the turmoil that must have been brewing beneath the surface.
"We've been waiting for you," he said, his voice even. "Are you all okay?"
Axel and the others stumbled forward, their fatigue making it difficult to even stand. Azer, in particular, looked pale and unsteady on his feet.
"We lost Ely," Axel said, his voice catching in his throat.
Ging's expression softened for a moment,
"I know, I am sorry for all of you."
Ging acknowledged the loss of one of their own. But then he was back to business, directing his team to take charge of the injured members of Axel's team.
"Get Azer to medical," he ordered, and Axel and others watched as their teammate was immediately whisked away by Ging's team.
As Azer disappeared into the distance, Axel felt a sense of relief wash over him. They had made it out alive, but just barely. And they had paid a heavy price for their success.
Ging turned back to Axel, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"We'll have already called for an airship," he said. "For now, get some rest."
Axel nodded, grateful for the chance to finally let his guard down and recuperate. As he followed the other members of his team to the makeshift camp that Ging's team had set up, he couldn't help but wonder what the next steps in their mission would be. But for now, all he could do was focus on healing and recovering, and mourning the loss of Ely.
Ging sat down with Navi to debrief about their recent mission. He had a lot of questions, particularly about the mysterious figure that she had mentioned on their last phone call.
"So tell me more about this figure," he said, leaning forward in his chair.
Navi took a deep breath and began to recount what had happened.
"When we got to the location that we were supposed to investigate, we found this strange teleportation stone. It was glowing, and we had a feeling that it was connected to the First Ruins that we were discovered before calling you."
Ging nodded, his interest piqued.
"And then what happened?"
"We activated the stone, and it teleported us to another location," Navi continued. "It was a dark, cavernous space, and then we continued investigating and ambushed by more than one hundred Phymen Creatures, thanks to Ekail and Axel combat capabilities we did not hurt in that battle."
Ging frowned, his mind racing as he tried to make sense of the situation.
"Why would there be teleportation stones and stone creatures in this area?" he mused aloud.
Navi shrugged. "I don't know. But I do know that we were lucky to make it out alive."
