Capítulo 25: The Beta

Oliver's Pov

I didn't want to question Alpha Matteo's recent decisions regarding our pack.

But he had become unstable since that fateful encounter with Leila, Alpha Richard's long-lost daughter.

There were many disagreements, and rumours began that he no longer held the authority to serve as the Alpha.

On my end, I would always support him. However, I was worried that more than half of the wolves in the pack didn’t share the same sentiments.

"It's all because of that stupid pill."

I breathed, shaking my head. That pill dulled his senses, and when his mate came, his normal bodily reactions messed up his head.

I sighed, kicking the lone pebble I saw on the path before checking the time.

Alpha Matteo expected me to be back in an hour. He was called by the council and preferred to face them alone.

I clenched and unclenched my hands into fists, mad that he shut everyone out, including me.
