Jacques glanced down at Audie and then looked to Valentin, an almost pleased expression on his face. He placed the tray on the table and then turned to Audie, "Fine, but you're in my seat."
Valentin had to stifle a groan, this was what he had been trying to prevent before Audie distracted him with talks of secret passageways. Most times, he thought that Audie was the instigator when it came to the endless scuffle they were constantly engaged in but in moments just like this one, he could see that Jacques also shared some of the blame.
Audie's expression darkened as he glared up at Jacques, "I didn't see your name written on it..."
Valentin sighed imperceptibly, if their aimless and endless arguments weren't so exasperating, it might actually be entertaining. He just rose to his feet, stepped out, and yanked Jacques down on his seat before walking around to join Nael.
(T^T) I lost almost half of this chapter while writing and felt so dispirited that I wanted to just scrap the scene but I love it too much to do that. I intended to have more chapters out today but everything kept going wrong, my apologies...
