Flying through the woods, a streak of silver flashed past here and there disappearing from one tree top to the next. If someone looked closely, they could make out the shape of a bipedal being using the vines as a swing. Just as the boy disappeared into the thick leaves overhead, a giant metal bird came swooping down and just barely missing where the being was just seconds before!
"Whew, I don't even know why Skarmory is so angry. All I did was take some of her feathers. Sheesh, I mean it might have hurt a little but not enough to chase me from Yulti to Ryul."
"Let me pluck one of your hair strands, Brother, and see how you react."
"Whoa, hey now! My hair is way more beautiful than these metal feathers."
"Hehe! I'm just happy we finally completed the mission, JJ!"
"U-ummm. I think we should r-run away before it comes b-back…"
"Brother, I thought the newbie was a dragon. Why is she such a coward?"
Looking at all of his pokemons, Jax couldn't help but feel proud. They've all grown a lot over the years. Checking their progress so far, this was what he saw on their status windows:

Using the Moonstone High that was upgraded to Moonstone EX by Metsys in the sub-space all that time ago, Vioarr evolved into a Nidoking. With his evolution using an EX grade stone, all of Vioarr's six basic stats increase by another star. Now, every single stat had at least five stars with ATK and SPD even reach seven stars! Not only that, Jax found out that there was another grade potential even further than Dense Diamond. Jax really thought that by using the Moonstone EX, Vioarr's potential would be raised straight to EX but it stayed at Densest Diamond.
Jax wasn't disappointed at all. With more money than he knew what to do with since Headmaster Leon took care of all his wants and needs, Jax started splurging on high leveled corpse of Poison and Ground type money. Although he highly doubted he would find another pokemon with Densest Diamond grade potential like his Nidoking, Jax figured that if he fed Vioarr enough high-quality materials, something was bound to happen.
Speaking of grade increasing foods, those rainbow-colored berries that Jax and Vioarr found back when they were running away from Metagross was actually a type of berry that did exactly that! Known to a few as Arceus's Tears, these berries raised a pokemon's potential grade by a very small margin.
Even after being upgraded in the sub-space, the berries only very slightly raised a pokemon's grade potential. That isn't to say that they were completely useless; on the other hand, since Jax could grow as much as he want, the problem didn't really apply towards him. Not only that, any food that could increase pokemon's potential was sold for billions if they ever hit the market! Imagine having a pokemon stuck at level 89 for the rest of their life just because they didn't have that little boost from Dense Platinum grade to Shallow Diamond! Trainer's would start wars if news of this miracle food ever became widespread knowledge!
Although Jax didn't want to advertise the berries' existence, that didn't mean he didn't use them at all. A select few of the students that Jax found promising received a steady supply of berries from him every month. Spending so much time at the academy, Jax was bound to make a couple friends he could trust.
Ally was of course one of the students who received some of the berries and after her puppy-eyed pleas, Jax eventually gave some to Evelyn too. Even if they didn't know what the berries were, the trainers still asked Jax for some since their pokemons absolutely loved them.
Jax also gave some to the other student under Leon's care, George Adams. Even if the boy was stuck up, Jax learned a lot from him when he was first under Leon's tutelage. The other two to receive some berries from him were his Psychic teacher's other two students: Olivia McBeth and Walter Jr. Keys. Even if he wasn't as close to them as the previous three mentioned, they were still on friendly terms. Jax then turned to look at his second pokemon, Teritus. They had a rough patch after Jax explained what happened to its family's history with him but the two eventually made up. Now, Teritus was someone who Jax could have comfortably watching his back!
