Jasper ignored her and turned his focus on Amanda. "Her responsibility is on you, Amanda. I believe you will take care of her."
"Don't worry, Mr. Wilkinson," Amanda said reassuringly. "We make sure of the safety of the staff. We will first review her work before assigning her a task."
"Okay." Jasper rose from his seat. "I'd like to have a moment with her before I make the final decision."
"Yes, please. You can take your time."
Jasper led Ella out of the room. They stopped outside the door, and Jasper turned to face her. His expression was troubled, and his brow furrowed in concern. He wasn't sure if what he was doing was right. He knew he couldn't risk keeping Ella with him for long, but he was concerned about her. Without asking her, he had decided to bring her here. What if she refused to work here?
Both were silently staring at each other. Ella's mind swirled with questions, while Jasper looked hesitant.
