Jasper's tone remained firm, even as Elsa's shock reverberated through the phone. "Yes, I've made my choice, Elsa. What is the point of discussing it again?"

"Oh, I need to know why you have made such a disastrous decision," Elsa retorted. "You are ruining your life. Why? Because of the power and wealth? Is your happiness not important to you? How could you give up your desire to marry a paralyzed woman? Are you going to spoil your life by looking after a sick woman? Who is going to look after you?"

She paused for some time and added fiercely, "I want to know the reason."
