Abigail's initial irritation softened as Christopher hugged her tightly. She couldn't resist the affectionate gesture, even though she was still trying to maintain a semblance of anger. His playful actions brought a small smile to her face, despite her best efforts to stay stern.
"Stop being so silly," she said, trying to sound serious but failing to hide her amusement. She tried to push him away, but not as forcefully as before.
Christopher, however, remained clinging to her.
"You can't just hug your way out of this mess, you know," she grumbled.
Christopher lifted his head, looking into her eyes with a hint of mischief. "I know," he replied, his tone more serious now. "I messed up, and I'm truly sorry. I shouldn't have doubted you, and I regret every hurtful word I said."
