Christopher thought his father's statement was illogical. Why couldn't anyone politely decline an offer of alcohol? The person who did not drink had every right to refuse alcohol.
He desperately wanted to argue with him, but he abandoned the thought. Arguing with him would only aggravate him further. The dinner would then come to an end right here.
Christopher didn't want to make the situation worse. He turned to Abigail and comforted her.
"It's fine. You can say no to alcohol anytime and anywhere. Hmm?" His voice was low.
Abigail nodded and murmured, "Thank you."
Adrian was expecting Christopher to talk him back. That was what he was accustomed to.
He couldn't start it on his own if Christopher didn't argue with him. His insides were flipping in agitation, though he couldn't say anything. Moreover, he didn't like Christopher giving importance to Abigail. So, he walked away.
