Jason's POV cont....
days continued growing and the joy of always meeting the girl with hazel blue eyes kept me going
she still refused to tell me her name so i continued calling her *hazel
my parents business trip was elongated so i was able to sneak out without getting afraid of being caught
today, we both sat down at the lake in Eve garden with our legs dipped in the water
"what's your age?" i suddenly asked her in between our chit chat
''my age? I'm thirteen" she replied
"I'm two years older than you" i grinned and she scorned at me
"but I'm way more mature than you are" she said and i chuckled
"yeah right, at least your parents still have some time to spare for you" i said and she eyed me
"only my mother is always available, my father is always busy with the nation affairs" she said
"its still the same, i always feel like I'm the the real child of my parents, i have a sister but i don't get to see her often because she's in another capital" i said
"i have a brother too, he always help me sneak out" she said and i laughed
"Then you should bring him tomorrow" i said
"i wish i can, but one of us has to stay in the palace, else my father would get a wind and lock me up in the dungeon" she said and i felt her shiver lightly
i held her shoulders still to calm her down and looked straight into her eyes
"Have you ever been locked up there?" i asked, staring into her eyes calmly and she suddenly felt tension and started panicking
i pulled her into a hug and patted her back gently
"its alright, everything is fine" i whispered into her ears and i felt something wet on my back and realized she started crying
"You must have been scared to death...it's fine now, you are never going back in there again" i said gently while caressing her back and sighed when i felt her calm down a bit
"ghost....i saw many ghost in there, everyday, they'd come and threaten to take my life
"even my best friend who was killed appeared,she....
"they would strangle me and sometimes grab my hair....i was only ten years...." she stuttered in pain and i could feel the sorrow and fear in her tiny voice
i disengaged the hug and kissed her cheek
she sniffed and glared at me
"what was that for?" she asked and i smiled
"there was this fairytale drama I watched, the mermaid told the knight that a kiss on the damsel tears could take away her sorrow" i said and tucked her hair strand behind her ear "so i wish that would take away all your fear and sadness" i said and she smiled
"Thanks" she said sincerely and i smiled
"so why did you continued sneaking out? you don't want to go back there so you shouldn't be sneaking out like this anymore" i said out of concern
"oh, really? then i wouldn't have met you, for the first time, i met a human who understands me so, not meeting you would have been the greatest regret of my life" she said and a smile formed on my lips subconsciously
"me too" i said and she also smiled brightly
just then my eyes wandered around and my gaze landed on the tree hazel sat on the first time i saw her in Eve garden
"Let's climb that tree together, I've always wanted to do that with you" i said
"Wait, are those not the boys that attacked you the other day?" hazel suddenly said and i traced her gaze which landed on three boys
"it was very dark so i wasn't sure if they are the one" i said
"yes but the dagger...." hazel said and i frowned
"right, the dagger..." i trailed and glared at the tallest boy who had a dagger hanging in the corner of his coat
it was the dagger he used to stab my hand the other day
"He has superpowers, he must be from your kingdom" i said
"Yes, but I've never seen neither him or his friends before and the eldest boy especially looks strangely familiar" hazel said
just then the boys walked up to us
as usual it was the eldest boy who spoke
"greetings, your highness" he bored respectfully and hazel eyed him
"how can i respond to your greetings when i don't even know who you are? i asked you the other time, which clan are you from?" hazel asked grimly and the boy smiled wryly
"my name is hulk, your highness. And this are my brothers, liam and brian" Hulk said rather politely and hazel scoffed
"That does not identify you, and that wasn't the answer to my question" hazel snapped
"well, all i can say is that i am a very close relative of yours. i have an assignment to carry out here, my father discovered that this boy is human and he has been the reason you now sneak out everyday against his majesty's order so therefore, i was asked to drag him to the royal court and if he proves stubborn, i am permitted to slit his throat" Hulk said and dragged out his dagger
"who gave you such orders?" hazel asked
"My father, your highness" Hulk replied
"Is his rank superior to mine in this empire?" hazel asked
"well, i wouldn't say yes and i wouldn't say no" Hulk said with a hidden grin
"oh, i see. but since your father is so superior that you fail to identify him, i now give you order as the princess of this nation, you are not allowed to touch this human, not even a strand of his hair" hazel said firmly and hulk scoffed lightly
"May i ask why, your highness?" he asked
"Well as you must have heard, I'm the only human being in this nation so its only right for me to show some compassion to my fellow human, besides he's my guest" hazel said and folded her arms in a domineering manner and hulk snickered
"You might be human, your highness, but you have super powers that only the fellow of this nation has and most importantly, you are a princess in this nation so i believe you must abide to all the laws of the kingdom especially when befriending a normal human being is the greatest offense" Hulk said with his usual sly smile whiplashed on his face and hazel scoffed
"I didn't know about that, so there's such rule? but what can i do, i'm human too" hazel said with an indifferent shrug
"Then I'm sorry, i have to do the needful too" hulk said and raised his dagger but Isabella stretched her hand swiftly and a golden sword appeared in her hand
she unsheathed it and wielded it against hulk's neck
"leave, Jace." hazel said solemnly and her once beautiful blue hazel eyes turned bloody red but then, the red blooded eyes are beautiful too "leave!" she said again, this time she sounded hoarse
"No, i can't leave! what if he do something bad to you? please don't ask me to leave" i said comprehensively and hazel smirked
"I'm not chasing you because I'm scared, i just don't want you to see this side of me" hazel said and in an instant, she attacked hulk with her sword and blood cane gushing out from his arm, not waiting for him to recover from the pain, she slit his leg too and then placed the sword against his neck again, this time a determined look to slit his throat is obvious on her face
she breathed in and out and raised her sword to slash! but i stopped her
i grabbed her from behind and whispered into her ears
"you are human, a human would never murder a fellow human being" i said to her and she scoffed
"Does this dummy look human to you? He's just a bloody villain!" hazel said angrily
"i understand , but still, you shouldn't kill anyone, a human wouldn't do that. If you kill him now, then you are no longer human. You are going to kill him because of me anyway, so please.....let him go" i pleaded desperately and hazel sighed
"fine, on one condition though, let's not meet for a few days" hazel said and i frowned
"but, why?" i asked
"because that's the only option for now, bye then" hazel said and walked away briskly
i sighed and glanced at hulk who is now sprawled on the ground before leaving for home
'not see each other for a few days? she gat to be kidding me' i scoffed
