Capítulo 88: Chapter 88: "The Price of Stupidity"

When Ron woke up, he found himself lying in a hospital bed, which he knew very well because he had lived there when he was petrified by the basilisk last semester. This was the school infirmary with flax-colored sheets and herbs. His breathing made him understand instantly, and he began to recall the last thing that happened before he passed out.

"Hiss..." He couldn't help howling. The injury on his shoulder seemed to have spread to his sensory nerves only now. In the wizarding society, the habit of using anesthetics had not yet formed. Even if it is used, it still has a time limit. Not only his shoulders and arms, but Ron found that his head was also bandaged with a piece of gauze, covering most of his red hair and causing a tingling sensation from time to time.

"Ron, are you awake?" Harry, who was sitting aside, said in surprise.

"Thank you," Ron said, then looked out the window and saw that the sky had completely darkened.

"How long have I been unconscious?" he asked.

"It's been a long time," Harry replied.

"Really?" He tried to sit up, only to find that he couldn't get any strength in his hands.

"You should lie down first. Madam Pomfrey said you have to rest for at least a month to fully recover," said Hermione's cold voice. "Don't get me wrong," Hermione added, standing behind him. "I just feel a little sorry that my prediction has come true. Now that you're awake, I should go."

"Goodbye, classmate Weasley," Hermione's voice remained cold.

"Wait," said Ron's weak voice. "I'm sorry."

"I believe this was just an accident. You're actually a student without aura," Ron's words almost stirred Hermione's anger again.

"I won't take the Divination class anymore. Actually, I don't believe it either. She also said that I would definitely have good luck today," Ron sighed heavily while lying on the hospital bed.

"I apologize for my previous mistakes," Ron said sincerely.

When Ron was at his most desperate, it was Hermione's curse that saved him. He wasn't really sure about good or bad. He actually regretted the hurtful sentence he said yesterday.

Crying girls, especially when they have no reason, are really terrible.

In the end, Hermione helped him regardless of their previous suspicions. He felt that if he didn't know what was good or bad, he would disrespect himself.

At heart, he is still a good boy.

"I accept your apology," Hermione took a deep breath and said slowly.

They are friends after all. Isn't it normal to be tolerant of friends?

But after cracks appear again and again, will they really leave no trace as usual?

Hermione didn't say anything, but she really felt that sometimes he was too naive.

In front of the big things, such as the Philosopher's Stone in the first grade and the compound soup in the second grade, she was willing to accompany Ron and Harry on the adventure and violate the school rules together, because she knew that there were more important things than rules.

But more often, she couldn't bear the stupidity and impulsiveness of the two of them. Sometimes Harry was fine, but Ron was really hopeless sometimes.

Today's accident can be said to be his own fault.

"Well, so that you're mentally prepared to accept, here are three not-so-good news to tell you," Hermione accepted the apology and her tone was much more relaxed, but what she said did not make people happy at all.

"Hermione, don't say it. We need to let him rest," Harry's eyes darkened, as if he was thinking of something, but he pulled the corner of Hermione's clothes and told her to stop talking.

"Since you have made a mistake, you must have the courage to take responsibility. This is the real Gryffindor," Hermione stared at Ron and said.

"Yeah," Ron nodded, he still didn't realize the serious consequences of today's accident.

"First, your parents already knew that you were injured. I heard that you were seriously injured. Aunt Molly was about to see you, but your father stopped her. I think they must be very worried about you. Your twin brother and prefect brother also guarded you for almost an afternoon before leaving. These are the prices your family has paid for you. Can you think more carefully when you take risks in the future?" Hermione spoke earnestly, hoping Ron would think twice in the future.

Compared to the injuries he suffered in the first year due to the board fight, that time was a sacrifice, but this time it was just a joke.

"Yeah," Ron lowered his head in shame, regret spreading from his heart.

Seeing him realize his mistake, Hermione's tone became much better, but the next words made him feel even more uncomfortable.

"Secondly, Hagrid may be fired," Hermione said seriously.

"No!" Ron said with an incredulous expression. "It's all my fault this time. It has nothing to do with Hagrid. It's because I lost my mind!" He shouted, trying to take the responsibility on himself, but obviously it didn't help.

"It's just possible," Hermione's brows wrinkled, and she didn't feel good looking at Ron's guilt, but when she remembered that all this was caused by his own naivety, she didn't want to comfort him anymore. He must have a longer memory.

"Harry, what should we do? Let's talk to Professor Dumbledore, let him deduct my points and don't fire Hagrid," Ron knew how hard-won Hagrid's opportunity was, but now he might have destroyed it himself.

"Hmm..." Harry just nodded perfunctorily. He didn't think the matter could be solved so easily.

"What's the last thing?" Ron asked with some horror. He didn't think he was a victim, but he also caused more trouble for others. He didn't want to involve anyone else in this last point.

"It's only about you," Hermione sighed and looked at Ron with a complicated expression. "Harry, tell him. I have to go to the library now," Hermione didn't look back. She walked to the door of the ward and, when she saw Ron waking up, felt relieved. Now she should get back on track with her studies.

The world does not revolve around one person.

"Harry, what's the matter?" Ron's only intact arm quickly grabbed Harry and he couldn't help but ask in a hurry.

Harry hesitated, then whispered for a while before clarifying the words.

Ron's face suddenly turned pale when he heard the words, then went red again, like an iron skewer that had been roasted for a long time. His eyes were full of anger and unwillingness, struggling to get up from the bed, but lying down weakly because of his injuries.

His only intact right hand clenched into a fist, which may be the only way he could express his indignation now.

"Why is this?" Ron screamed sternly on the bed, and he couldn't accept this fact.
