Clare POV

Leonel was sitting right next to me. His hand was on my face, and he had just said something so sweet. I sat up and stared at him.

Had he always been so handsome? Was I just ignoring it before? Or maybe it was just because I hadn't seen him in a week, and it was just hitting me like a truck.

Leonel stared back at me, looking as if he was drinking me in and memorizing every detail he could. But I couldn't leave his eyes. Those gorgeous green eyes just drew me in somehow.

They drew me all the way in.

Somehow, I found my lips on his again without even realizing what I was doing. This time, my kiss was a lot softer, and not so angry. But once again, Leonel eagerly kissed me back.

The sparks that he always caused burned brighter. Maybe it was the blood loss, or maybe it was just the fact that I wasn't resisting him anymore.
