Capítulo 13: Chapter 13: A Day on the Town

Grant’s perspective:

At the Waterside Café scarfing down a basket of fish and chips that are a little too salty for my liking, I watch Emily return from the soda fountain. The sway in her hips and freedom in her smile lets me know that this trip, for her, is like a much needed vacation away from the h*ll of her brother’s tyranny. Had I only known that my fated mate was so close to me all this time, maybe I could have saved her the despair of watching her brother become her nightmare. I don’t know how, but just maybe I could have figured it out.
