Chapter Forty-Four
When I wake, I’m in a very awkward position. By awkward, I mean I’m in a bed, with my left arm and leg chained to the side railing of a bed. Hmmm…I purse my lips, sensing I may have provoked someone a little too far this time. The fact that the chains are sealed in frost colored-magic, nullifying what I can access, is my main clue.
My head is more groggy than anything, and my tongue feels like I licked Kia during shedding season. There is a window, which is allowing me to see the ocean. I also see long slender trees, telling me I’m likely in Northern Lusole. The rest of the room is bare and made of white pearl stone, with a strong metal door meant to keep me contained. Why is there a door? No one uses doors anymore. The only buildings left with doors date back to when humans lived.
