Capítulo 13: Other men.

Marian POV

"Miss Miller, it is such a wonderful evening and a splendid party, don't you think?"

A tall lanky man who introduced himself as Mr Pearson said.

That's one additional problem I have with this new lifestyle. Party, party, party. I have attended so many parties that I have lost count already.

"You said it right", I politely answered.

He smiled at me in approval, his eyes twinkled like a thought flew into his head.

"What do you think of Marian Pearson, will it not be a beautiful combination?", he questioned again.

"Sorry, I do not think I follow", I asked as I flipped my hair to the back.

"If we were to marry. Perhaps, you could spare some time this week and we could discuss other prospects too. Like our fortunes'', he winked at me and took a sip of his drink.

I grimaced. The thought of spending a minute with a man old enough to be my uncle treating me like a lover is disturbing.

"And please do not decline, it is only polite if you accept", he added.
