CHAPTER TWENTY THREE
Whatever I had been expecting, it had not been this.
I hadn’t thought that Adam would through Jason under the bus so quickly. However, despite Jason’s anger, he is quick to do damage control, “I don’t know what misconception you have about what is going on here, but it is not my fault if Cameron refused to mark your sister. He must have seen something lacking in her. But considering the scars she bears, is it any wonder that no self-respecting man would want to take that female as a mate? She should be grateful that she can still serve the pack.”
There is a threatening edge to his words, and I can feel Adam’s hand tense, but his expression doesn’t change.
