CHAPTER THIRTY ONE
I stare at him, “What?”
Jason’s lips curve and while his tone is gentle, his voice is filled with malicious glee, “Oh, did Adam not tell you? I’m not surprised. Perhaps he didn’t see the need to tell you because he thought you would bear him children. But now you know what he thinks about you, don’t you?”
I stare at him, wanting to speak, but nothing coming out of my mouth.
“Who do you think will make a good second mate for him, do you think?” Jason smiles at me. “His parents want Maya and I agree. She is classy, has been raised in the same environment as him, and the two of them were childhood friends. She knows him better than he thinks. She knows all about what he likes and doesn’t like. She makes him laugh. He might be upset with her for now but once she is in his bed and bearing his children, he will find himself growing enamoured with her once again.”
It’s difficult to breathe, “You’re lying. Adam would never do that to me.”
